Gardone Cycling: D’Annunzio Bike Ride This is a difficulty trail / demanding route. Best suited for mountain bikes. Terrain type: Woodland trail/Cycle path/Road/Quiet lanes/Uphill/Downhill. You’ll need Helmet - you can hire one from Bike Planet, Via Nazionale Dei Giovi, 73, 30811 Cesano, Maderno Trainers Map - you can find these at the Tourist Information Office Water & Snacks Sunscreen Puncture repair kit Duration: half day. The route starts from the lakeside in Gardone Riviera, Cycling on a not particularly steep ascent on asphalt we head towards the town hall, enter the village of Gardone Sopra, and after the Vittoriale square, take the cobbled climb that leads from Montecucco to Tresnico with a gradient between 12% and 18%. With another steep but short climb (peaks at 25%) you reach Delia Calma Street covering the first 5 Km. Ypu them continue with gentle uos and downs in Val Sur. At Conventino starts the most technical part. Enter the woods on an unpaved and sometimes rocky road, with short natural steps of red rock to climb over with a jump. Go past Pra del Pero then cross the river and take the easy white road that, with a fast and easy descent, leads you to Colomber, covering a total of about 18 Km. Then you face the steep and steady ascent, on an unpaved road in the woods, for about 5 Km with a difference in altitude of 600 metres until the square of the Pirello, the highest point in the D’Annunzio bike ride (1017 metres). Finally the long unpaved descent of about 12Km. You pass through the villages of Bezzuglio and Fasano Sopra, a short and steep cobbled descent, and we reach Poffa and villa Gemma. The final stretch of the trail is and up and down of about 2 Km through side streets that bring you to the “crazy water park ”just below the Vittoriale. The last short paved descent, the “Torricella”, takes you to the Vittoriale square in Gardone Sopra
