with Natasha Broad
Wednesday 12 February 2014
6.30-7.30pm
The art historian Natasha Broad will interpret the Mannerist artist Bronzino’s
abstruse Allegory, commissioned as a diverting puzzle for Francis I of France.
Natasha will draw attention to the strengths and weaknesses of past interpretations
of the Allegory, present her own research, and discuss the problematic nature
of interpretation itself. Questions will be welcomed.
