Greetings and welcome to the Earth Conservancy`s Community

A Not-For-Profit Corporation for Conservation and Land Revitalization in the Wyoming Valley
Greetings and welcome to the Earth Conservancy’s Community Garden! This year marks the 15th year of
our garden initiative.
The garden plots are located along Flats Road in Plymouth and will be open to participants on May 15,
2015, weather permitting. The plots and water are supplied on a gratis basis by Earth Conservancy. Each
gardener provides his or her own seeds, plants, and tools (a hose is recommended for those not located
near the water tap). To reduce risk of losing your tools, please do not leave anything at the site overnight.
We ask that all participants work together to make the garden a positive experience. Each gardener is
asked to follow the garden’s rules and to take an active role in administering the gardens. Community
gardens are a great way to meet new people. Get to know your neighbors! And while we hope there are
no instances of theft or vandalism, it has happened in the past. Becoming acquainted with your fellow
gardeners will help you know when someone might be at the site who is not a participant.
The garden will close October 15, 2015. At the end of the season, please remove all tools, netting, tags,
twine, stakes, or any other items you have used from your plot. Unfortunately, we have received calls from
the farmer who preps the site that in the past he has had to spend hours cleaning before being able to till.
Available on the website is a pdf version of our Agreement for Participation. Please review it, complete
the final section, and return one copy to us. This waiver must be completed by each person who plans to
garden at the site.
Plots are assigned on a first come/first served basis. You can request specific plots, but please remember
that since it is a first-come, first-served program, you may not get your first choice. I will call you with
your plot numbers as soon as the plots are tilled, laid out, and ready to go. Here’s to a bountiful growing
season. Thank you for helping make the Earth Conservancy Community Gardens a continued success. If
you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at 570.823.3445 or

Sincerely,
