NSBE Mission To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS | REGION III 2014 - 2015 LETTER FROM THE FINANCE CHAIR Greetings, On behalf of the National Society of Black Engineers, I would like to say that we are honored that your organization is interested in getting involved in our society. The National Society of Black Engineers was founded in 1975 on the campus of Purdue University by six collegiate students (renowned as the “Chicago six”). Since its inception, the organization has grown to become the largest student run organization in the United States, comprising over 30,000 members amongst its Pre-Collegiate, Collegiate, and Professional chapters. Our signature programs are tailored towards technical community outreach, academic support, and professional development, all designed to fulfill the NSBE mission. The National Society of Black Engineers is divided into six regions. Region III is composed of all chapters that lie in the southeastern United States, as well as international chapters in Latin America, South America, and the Caribbean. This region is informally known as “The Power House Region,” not only because it has the largest membership of all of the regions, but also because of its record of academic excellence and strong focus on giving back to the community. As the Region III Finance Chair, I will be your main point of contact as we plan for our Fall Regional Conference. I look forward to working with you to ensure we are able to host the best Fall Regional Conference to date! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
