Information Technology manages Taylor-owned, Windows-based computers and joins computers to Taylor’s domain during the build process. If you have questions about a Taylor-owned, Windows-based computer, contact 4040. Mac instructions are found below. Join a Windows 7 PC to the CAMPUS Domain: Right-click Computer (accessible through the START menu) and select Properties. Click Change Settings You must have access to a Taylor username and password that has permissions to join a computer to the CAMPUS domain. If in doubt, contact 4040. Browsing the network Once you have joined your Mac to the Campus Domain, you will be able to search for network shares and network print queues by name rather than mapping by IP address. CMD+k in Finder -> smb://acadnas1/AcadPNF/username CMD+k in Finder -> smb://filesrv1/sharename - Can search and automatically authenticate if Mac Bound to Campus Domain If you are logged into your Mac with a local account, you will have to authenticate to each network file and print share with campus\username. If you are logged into your Mac with a campus username, then you can automatically map to network file and print shares you have rights to without authenticating again.
