Gurupi Gold Belt
The Gurupi Gold Belt is an underexplored and emerging district with a rich history
of artisanal mining dating back to the 17th-Century. The Gurupi belt is of the
same provenance as the West African Shield, which has produced over 30 Moz of
gold.
At present, recognized miners including Kinross, Jaguar Mining and Luna Gold are
focused on the development of gold mines and exploration plays that are
facilitated by excellent regional infrastructure, including access to roads, water
and electricity.
All of BRI’s projects in the Gurupi Belt have a history of artisanal mining and are
on strike from known mineralized trends.
