Our mission is to build awareness,
understanding, and support for childhood cancer
through the Make-a-Wish Foundation which
fulfills wishes for children with life-threatening
illnesses and on-going childhood cancer
research, specifically Neuroblastoma. We will
carry out our goals with integrity and kindness
as we honor Ben Johnson's memory and courageous battle with cancer.
All money raised by the foundation is evenly
divided between the Make-A-Wish Foundation
and Neuroblastoma Research. Both of these
causes have been chosen by the BenInspired
Foundation because they clearly represent the
two things that directly impacted Ben. The
Make-A-Wish trip brought a huge smile to his
face, and he participated in Neuroblastoma
research in both his quest for life and his desire
to help other cancer-inflicted children.

WHAT & WHY
On Saturday, September 17, 2011 the BenInspired
Foundation would like to invite you, your family &
your friends to the first annual Walk for Ben: Steps
for a Cure. The event is being held on Ben’s birthday
in conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness
Month.
The Walk for Ben: Steps for a Cure is a fundraising
event for the foundation to raise awareness of
childhood cancer.
Please register to walk with us! If you aren’t able to be
at the event, please consider making a charitable contribution to the BenInspired Foundation.

Steps for the Cure Walk
Fabulous Raffle Items
Please come to walk anytime between 4 & 7 pm. With
each lap completed you will earn a raffle ticket for
some great prizes! In addition to walking, there will be
several activities for all ages, fabulous raffles & giveaways, and concessions will be available.
Special Memory Lap, Mural Dedication and
Balloon Release at 6:00 pm.
Please wear appropriate clothing and dress for the
weather.
The Walk for Ben: Steps for a Cure registration form
is attached. Early bird registration by September 2nd is
appreciated and guarantees a FREE T-shirt the night of
the event!

or shine at Winnebago High School’s Athletic Stadium
on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
In case of inclement weather, the event will held inside
Winnebago High School.
