COMEDY CLASS
Using Comedy In The Classroom
Comedy is defined as professional entertainment consisting of jokes and satirical sketches,
intended to make an audience laugh.
Based on this definition, most people think comedy is inclusive to what stand-up comedy of the
likes of Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, and Mo’Nique. It is hard to for some to comprehend
that comedy is a lot like teaching. Teachers and comedians both speak to audiences with the
desire to capture their attention.
In this class, we will teach you how we combine our comedic style with classroom ethics to get
students attention, make them laugh all while helping them learn. This session is designed to be
interactive. Our desire is for participants to leave this session with practical tips ready to be
applied to the classroom Monday morning.
