Secrets Wedding in Paradise Package

This package is complimentary when booking a Preferred Club Junior
Suite Ocean View category or higher, for a minimum of 7-night stay or if a
minimum of 5 rooms for a minimum of 3 nights at any room category, this
package also applies for renewal or ceremony.
Restrictions/exclusions: Subject to availability and double occupancy only. Prices are subject to
change without notice. This package cannot be combined with the Secrets Eternity Honeymoon

Through our expertise and partnerships with amazing décor suppliers and
chefs specializing in authentic Indian cuisine, you can rest assured knowing
that your traditions and customs will be honored and our dedicated on-site
wedding coordinators will work diligently to create unique and dynamic
wedding events. Our Shaadi Package consists of six events over the course
of three days and inclusive of seventy five guests. Please work with your

Stay a minimum of 7-nights with your qualifying wedding or

complimentary nights toward your return stay over your first

Free Anniversary Nights are valid on all qualifying new wedding or
honeymoon reservations made at any of the Secrets Resorts & Spas

Payment Policy
Deposit Policy
A deposit is required to confirm and hold the requested wedding date.
Deposit requirements vary based on wedding package purchased. Deposit
of $100.00 is required to reserve the Wedding in Paradise Package; a
deposit of $500.00 is required to reserve the Love or Ultimate Wedding
Package.
This deposit can then be applied toward ceremony and/or reception
upgrades which have been purchased in addition to the wedding
package. If the wedding couple chooses not to purchase additional
ceremony and/ or reception amenities, the credit can then be applied
toward any room charges upon check out, including but not limited
to phone charges, spa treatments and logo shop purchases. Any
remaining credit balance will be refunded in the form of the original
payment.
Cancellation Policy
The wedding can be canceled six or more months prior to the
confirmed date without penalties. If the wedding is canceled within
six months, the non-refundable deposit will be kept as a penalty. If
the wedding is canceled, but the couple still travels as planned, the
deposit can then be applied toward any additional room charges
made during their stay.
Payment Options
The entire payment must be paid in full two days prior to the
wedding, after the first meeting with the wedding coordinator. The
final wedding payment must be paid with cash or credit card.

• I talian nationals celebrating their wedding in Jamaica must notify
their embassy and have a certified copy of their marriage certificate
forwarded to their embassy to be legalized and translated.
Legal Requirements
In order to get legally married in Secrets St. James Montego Bay, there
are a few requirements you need. Even though by law the wedding
couple only needs to be here 24 hours in advance (not including day
of arrival), we would advise you to come at least 3 days in advance
to meet with the wedding coordinator and Marriage officer and go
through the final details regarding the wedding. Symbolic and nonlegal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the
wedding coordinator to discuss requirements.
The law requires that the Bride and Groom are in Jamaica for a
minimum of 24 hours prior (not including arrival day) to the wedding.
However, in order to get legally married the ceremony should be by
a Marriage officer recognized by the Jamaican Government and the
following original documents are required to be sent via courier to
the Wedding Coordinator at least eight weeks prior to the couple’s
arrival to the hotel:

roof of citizenship – certified copy of birth certificate, which includes
father’s name.
•N
otarized copies of Bride & Groom’s official ID (Passports).
•P
roof of divorce if applicable (original certificate of divorce).
•N
otarized copy of death certificate for widow or widower.
•O
ccupation of both candidates.
•O
ccupation and full names of both sets of parents.
•P
arent’s written consent if under 18 years of age.
•F
rench Canadians need a notarized translated copy of all documents
and a photocopy of the original French documents. None of the
above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages.
•A
ll documents not originally in English need a notarized translated
copy and a photocopy of the original documents
•A
fter ceremony, the couple will receive a copy of the Marriage
Register that the Officer will take to the Registrar General in
Montego Bay in order to obtain your Official Certificate. This process
takes approximately 3 months and we will mail the documents to
you as soon as we receive it from the Registrar’s Office.
• S ecrets Resorts & Spas are not responsible for those documents
sent via Postal or Currier Services and not received by the Wedding
Coordinator.

e are unable to retrieve those documents not sent directly to
the hotel, please note that the wedding coordinator or any other
employee of the hotel is not able to leave the property to retrieve
documents.

fter signing the Marriage Registrar forms, the Minister sends the
documents signed by the couple to the Registrar General Department
(Government Agency that processes marriage certificates) ; on
average the processing of the paperwork takes approximately 3
months ,please note that Secrets Resorts & Spa is not responsible for
any delay in the processing of the marriage certificates.
Symbolic Ceremonies: In Jamaica, symbolic ceremonies are considered a
non-legal option. Due to Government law, wedding couples MUST be
legally married in their country prior to having a symbolic ceremony in
Jamaica. The bride and groom must present their wedding certificate
as proof of marriage for a symbolic ceremony.
