The BEUMER stretch hood® M quickly and reliably covers
bricks and stones that are stacked on pallets with a
protective stretch film hood, packaging them into stable
loading units. The combination of vertical and horizontal forces
of the film provides maximum load security. In addition, the
method and the flexible film have been adapted to sharp-edged
bricks to ensure weatherproof pallet packaging. The palletized
bricks are well protected, allowing them to be stored outdoors
and loaded and transported safely – in summer and winter, in
any kind of weather.

PERFECT FIT OF THE FILM WITH SIMPLE OPERATION
FLEXIBILITY IN THE APPLICATION
First impressions count, even for bricks: Conclusions are often
made about the contents based on the packaging. So it’s a
good thing that the BEUMER stretch hood® M machine is specially
designed for hard-to-package bricks and stones. It uses sensors to
determine fully automatically the package height of each stack and
calculates the optimum amount of film required. It also incorporates
innovative technology for precise positioning of the film. The result
is a smooth film surface for convincing presentation of your goods.
At the same time, the entire process can be easily configured and
operated thanks to an optimized, user-friendly control panel.
Not all pallets to be packaged are identical.
Different stack heights, various footprints, and varying requirements
regarding film thickness are part of day-to-day operations. The
BEUMER stretch hood® M packages a wide variety of pallets of
stacked bricks quickly, reliably, and sustainably. The pallets can be
up to 2,400 mm high and have a footprint of 700 x 700 mm to 1,450
x 1,250 mm. Special sizes are possible upon request. In addition,
the packaging system is designed for a wide range of film
thicknesses from 40 μm to 200 μm – making it quick and easy to
switch films.
COST-SAVING PACKAGING
Greater throughput, less film consumption, and high energy
savings are crucial parameters for cost-efficient packaging –
and have been made a reality by the BEUMER stretch hood® M
for the brick and tile industry. For instance, the high-performance
packaging machine can package up to 150 loading units per hour –
with reduced material costs. The stretch hood method uses 40%
less film compared to shrink hood packaging – and 10% less
compared to stretch-wrapping methods. Furthermore, the BEUMER
stretch hood® M features low energy consumption thanks to
packaging without heat and the lack of cost-intensive hydraulics.
