As one of the rare formal Military Dining Out events in the Bay
Area, we proudly hold to the time honored traditions of Mess
Night. Among those traditions are wearing the proper uniform,
introducing yourself to the Guest Speaker before dinner, requesting permission from the President of the Mess before leaving the room, and no improper use of private cell phones during
dinner. The Rules of the Mess are provided in your invitation
packet. The Rules are meant to enhance the evening and are
amicably enforced. For other military services, equivalent dinner
dress or service dress uniform is acceptable. Military retirees
may wear the specified uniform or formal civilian attire. For all
others, formal attire will be appreciated.
We choose to complement the dinner of those Battle of Midway
Veterans if they are attending. If they cannot attend, please
consider a contribution to support our young sailors at the Midway event. If you plan to stay overnight, the Marines’ Memorial
Club (800-562-7463) has rooms reserved until 3 May 2016 under
the Group Code “Battle of Midway”. I truly hope you will accept
the invitation to join us for a fun-filled evening.
Warmest regards,
RADM Douglas M. Moore, Jr., SC, USN (Ret.)
