Stand Alone Formal Study Course List
This is a list of both mandatory and recommended courses only which have been identified as addressing some of the Formal Study requirements for Sexual Health
Medicine. Please note that this list is subject to change from year to year, is not meant to be exhaustive, and some courses may not be available.
Trainees are encouraged to provide suggestions of relevant courses to the Chapter to help continually update this list of recommended courses. When applying for
approval of courses not on this list, please submit the name, learning objectives, course outlines and a formal letter stating why you would like the Education
Committee to consider your recommendation. The Education Committee will examine your suggestion and make a decision as to whether your recommendation
meets the Sexual Health Medicine training requirements.

AND in addition to one of the courses above, all trainees must complete:
• 20 hours of supervised clinical training and logbook equivalent to clinical attachment to FPA
Health Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
ASHM
• Short Course in HIV Medicine (mandatory)
AND
• s100 prescriber accreditation/assessment process (mandatory)
AND
Further advanced study in HIV Medicine must be undertaken to complete this requirement.
Note: Advanced trainees in their final year of training may request to complete the following via the
Advanced Training Portal as part of further study in HIV Medicine:
• 2 x HIV Medicine mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercises
• HIV Medicine clinical log-book
