A JP Morgan Chase Tower, mile 2.77 Look up! That’s the JP Morgan Chase Tower, the tallest building in Texas! Built in 1982, it’s the 17th tallest building in the U.S. B “Houston is Inspired” Mural, mile 2.77 This mural was created by Gonzo247, artist and founder of Houston’s Aerosol Warfare Studio, commissioned by the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Houston Arts Alliance. In 2000, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Toyota Center, mile 5 The Toyota Center is home to the NBA’s Houston Rockets (and our first Water Stop!). H I Rothko Chapel, mile 8.78 Founded by John and Dominique de Menil, the Rothko J Lunch Stop, mile 13.44 Enjoy lunch at the beautiful campus of River Oaks Baptist School and take some time to stretch before you hit the ground walking. Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, mile 15.67 The 2.77-acre park features a 64 ft. fountain that re-circulates 11,000 gals. of water per min. as it cascades down its inner and outer walls. Surrounded by 186 oak trees, the park is opposite the south face of Williams Tower, which at the time of construction was the world’s tallest building not located in a central business district.
