GFVBC is the longest running Club in Great Falls, offering quality coaching and outstanding opportunities for learning and growth to athletes in grades 4 thru 12. Teach them young to love the sport! The event is a fundraiser for GFVBC athlete Sierra Hoock. Sierra is a 15 year old freshman at Great Falls High School who has suffered from a rare metabolic disease called Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) Type 1A since birth. GSD 1A is a disease that affects the liver and interferes with the way the body turns food into energy. Due to a missing enzyme, the body is unable to process sugar, fruit and lactose. She was on the liver transplant list for over a year and a half, when she received the call on March 6th that there was a liver available in Denver. After a 7+ hour surgery her old 12 pound liver was replaced with a healthy 3 pound liver. Sierra & her family spent 7 weeks in Denver during her recovery and she is now back in Great Falls continuing her recovery. Sierra will require ongoing medical monitoring throughout her life. USAV MEMBERSHIP PROCESS This is a USAV sanctioned event. Current USAV membership is required. If you are currently a member, you will not have to pay any extra fees. You’ll need to list your USAV member number on your registration form. If you aren’t an annual USAV member, you have two other membership options: (1) Pay for a one‐day membership July 8, 2017; or (2) pay for a summer membership (good through October 31st.) Those planning to play in several tournaments this summer should probably go with option B, since the rest of the MT tournaments will be sponsored by the USAV as well. If you plan to play in just the Grass Stain Open, July 8, 2017, then option A would probably be your best choice. Individual membership can be completed and paid online (this MUST be done before playing): For new members registering for the upcoming summer event(s), click on this link, https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org/wp/memberships/join.wp?mbr_ChapterID=25956 and follow directions For previous members renewing your USAV membership for the upcoming summer events, click on this link, https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org/wp15/IntraLock/Login.asp and follow directions below: Any problems or questions, email [email protected].
