thebeautifulBerkshiresofWesternMassachusetts.“ThePillow”encompassesaworld-renowned
internationalFestival;TheSchoolatJacob’sPillow,aprofessionaltrainingcenter;rareandextensive
danceArchiveswhichareopentothepublic;aCreativeDevelopmentResidencyProgramtosupport
newchoreography;co-presentationswithMASSMoCA(MassachusettsMuseumofContemporaryArt);

Opportunity
Jacob'sPillowseeksanexperienced,strategicartsmarketingspecialisttoserveasDirectorofMarketing
andCommunications.
Responsibilities
• WorkwiththeDirectorandManagingDirectortosetinstitutionalbranding,outreach,
marketing,andcommunicationgoalsforJacob’sPillowasawhole,theinternationaldance
festival,TheSchoolatJacob’sPillow,communityandaudienceengagementprograms,dance
archivesandpreservationefforts,andmore.
• Setstrategyandleadalleffortsrelatedtomarketing,ticketsales,audiencedevelopment,patron
services,publicrelations,andinterdepartmentalandexternalcommunication.
• AsamemberoftheSeniorManagementTeam,contributetostrategicplanningandgoalsetting.
• SupportthecommunicationneedsoftheDevelopmentdepartment,workingcollaboratively
withtheDevelopmentDirectortoco-leadasymbioticMarketing&Developmentteam.

PatronServicesManagerandAssistantPatronServicesManager.
Setstrategyandcreateeffectivetimelinesforalldesignworkandmarketingpublications,and
overseeGraphicDesignandWebsiteManagerastheyexecuteandmanagecreativeconcept,
design,printing,anddistribution.
• Includesseasonbrochure,festivaleventsbrochure,Schoolcatalog,targetmarketing
pieces,membershipbrochures,specialeventinvitations,posters,salessheets,and
otherinstitutionaldesignpieces.
Projectmanagemarketingpublicationswhennecessary.
Contractandmanagefreelancegraphicdesignerasnecessary.
Reviewandapproveallpublic-facingmarketingandcommunicationpiecesincluding
publications,pressreleases,emailanddigitalmarketingcopy,fundraisingappeals,andmore.
Setstrategyandoverseewebsitedesign,copy,andlayout,managedbytheGraphicDesignand
WebsiteManager,andDigitalInitiativesandMarketingManager.
• In2016-2017,workwithdesignfirmBarrelanddigitalmarketingfirmCapacity
Interactivetocreatenewwebsite.
Overseestrategy,planning,andexecutionofalldigitalmarketingeffortsandinitiatives,
managedbytheDigitalInitiativesandMarketingManager.
• Includessocialmedia,digitaladvertising,andemailcampaigns,aswellaseducational
resourcesincludingJacob’sPillowDanceInteractive.
WorkwithDigitalInitiativesandMarketingManager,FestivalPhotographer,andVideographers
tocreatecompellingdigitalcontent.
Createadvertisingandcompany-specifictargetmarketingplans.
WorkwiththePublicRelationsManagertosetpublicrelations/pressstrategyastheyworkto
garneroutstandingpresscoveragefromabroadrangeofregional,national,international,and
trademediaoutlets.
Createstrategytoattractnew,younger,andmorediverseaudiencestotheFestival.
• WorkwithCommunityProgramsandMarketingstafftoplanandexecuteaudience
developmentprogramsandeffortsincludingUnder35Fridays,WeekendOUT,family
friendlyevents,FreeFunFriday,andmore.
AdviseonandhelpcreatecollaborativepartnershipswithotherBerkshireCountyorganizations.
ServeasaJacob’sPillowrepresentativeandspokesperson.WorkwithBerkshireVisitorsBureau,
ChambersofCommerce,MassachusettsOfficeofTravelandTourism,andothercommunity,
regional,andnationalorganizationsasappropriate.
Qualifications
