WOF= Width of Fabric • LOF = Length of Fabric Fabric A (3352-91 Large Stripe – Multi), cut: • (4) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 74 ½” strips. • (4) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 72 ½” strips. Fabric B (3354-22 Tonal Vine – Pink), cut: • (4) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 70 ½” strips. • (4) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 64 ½” strips. • (8) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding. Fabric C (3352-99 Large Stripe – Black/Gray), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (8) 10 ⅞” squares. Fabric D (3354-99 Tonal Vine – Black), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (7) 10 ⅞” squares. Fabric E (3349-91 Large Geo – Multi), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (7) 10 ⅞” squares. Fabric F (3354-11 Tonal Vine – Lt. Blue), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (8) 10 ⅞” squares. Fabric G (3353-11 Small Floral – Lt. Blue), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (7) 10 ⅞” squares. Fabric H (3355-11 Netting Stripe – Lt. Blue), cut: • (3) 10 ⅞” x WOF strips, sub-cut (7) 10 ⅞” squares. Backing (3353-09 Small Floral – White), cut: • (2) 90” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together and trim to 80” x 90” for the back. •STUDIO e PROJECTS• Page 3 of 4 www.studioefabrics.com Sewing Sew using a ¼” seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Always press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise indicated. Block Assembly 1. Place (1) 10 ⅞” Fabric C square on top of (1) 10 ⅞” Fabric F square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 1). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 1). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 2) to make (2) FC units (Fig. 3). Trim the FC units to measure 10 ½” square to make (2) Block Ones. Repeat to make (16) FC Block Ones total. Block One make 16 F C Fig. 2 Fig. 1 Fig. 3 2. Repeat Step 1 using (7) 10 ⅞” Fabric D squares and (7) 10 ⅞” Fabric G squares to make (14) 10 ½” Block Twos (Fig. 4). You will only use (13) of the blocks. 3. Repeat Step 1 using (7) 10 ⅞” Fabric E squares and (7) 10 ⅞” Fabric H squares to make (14) 10 ½” Block Threes (Fig. 5). You will only use (13) of the blocks. Block Two make 13 Block Three make 13 E D G Quilt Top Assembly Fig. 4 H Fig. 5 (Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.) 4. Sew (6) assorted blocks together to make (1) row. Repeat to make (7) rows total. 5. Sew the (6) rows together to make the quilt top. 6. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 70 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 64 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 7. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 74 ½” Fabric A strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric A strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. •STUDIO e PROJECTS• Page 4 of 4 www.studioefabrics.com Layering, Quilting and Finishing 8. Press the quilt top and 80” x 90” backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete. Binding 9. Cut the ends of the (8) Fabric B binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together. 10. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.
