State Mandated Fitness Gram Testing
Your child is required to complete the State Mandated Physical Fitness Test - Fit Gram
The FITNESSGRAM is a state mandated physical fitness assessment for every 9th grade
student. It is a health-related fitness assessment developed by The Cooper Institute for
Aerobic Research and is a research-based criterion referenced test.
All 9th grade students enrolled in PE 9 will be tested by their physical education teacher during
their physical education class during the testing window.
ISPE and 9th grade student Athletes
9th grade ISPE students and 9th grade athletes on the following teams are required to participate
in the State Mandated Physical Fitness Assessment, Wednesday, February 18th.
Boys and Girls Lacrosse
Boys and Girls Tennis
Boys Soccer
Pep Squad
Boys and Girls Golf
Baseball
Students will receive a notice in their 2nd period class to attend.
Students who are unable to complete tests due to injury or medical reasons must attend and
present their medical excuse to Ms. Skaggs, physical education department chair.

Wear appropriate athletic attire and come dressed in appropriate athletic attire; running shoes,
shorts or sweat pants, t-shirt and/or sweatshirt. Report to the Greek Theater at 7:30 AM on
Wednesday morning to complete the following Fitness Assessments: Included are the thresholds
for a Healthy Fitness Zone.
