• The Metal Buildings Institute (MBI) was created in 2000 by the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) to be an information and education resource for contractors and erectors. • The Institute is an independent, non-­‐profit organization. • Able to pursue grant opportunities

What Happens After The Application and Fees are Sent To IAS?
1. Quality manual reviewed by IAS and your IAS accredited inspection agency
2. IAS schedules an on-­‐site joint assessment with you and the inspection agency
3. Assessment report identifying findings 4. Resolution of nonconformance's and concerns
5. Accreditation certificate issued 6. Biennial assessments by IAS (Initial, 1st Year Anniversary, each two years thereafter)
7. Annual inspections by your IAS Accredited Inspection Agency

Why does AC478 require regular internal audits and annual management reviews?
Because the internal audits document the effectiveness of the management system as well as the safety and training programs. In addition, the management reviews document improvement plans based on customer complaints, back charges, OSHA violations, and code requirements.
