3) How did Washington’s inauguration reflect the
nation’s respect for him?
-People lined the streets.
-The vote was unanimous.
4) The nation’s first economic crisis was a large public
debt. Why was this debt so large?
-Art. of Confed. made the Nation broke because we had
no tax revenue.
-We had issued bonds we couldn’t repay.
5) Read Hamilton’s Financial Plan. This section describes
Hamilton’s three step plan for ridding the country of its
debts. After each step add notes on why Hamilton wanted
to take these steps.
• Step 1: Federal Government would take over
all debts from the states.
-Prove the Gov would honor debts.

• Step 2: Create a federal bank for
government money.
