The asteroid game
Comets, asteroids
and meteorites
Asteroids are also known as the minor planets. Some even have small moons of their
own. Most asteroids are located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids are
difficult to observe because of their small size; most range from 1 to 1000 kilometres in diameter.
Find pictures of the asteroids Gaspra, Ida, Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta.
Draw them or paste a picture of them here.
Do some research to increase your understanding about asteroids.
Did you learn anything surprising?

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Consider what you have learned about the features of asteroids, where they are found and
how they move. Work with a partner to create a board game that includes some of this
information. Think about the way you will set up your board game. What materials will you
need? What facts will you include? How will these be conveyed?
Plan your board game in the box.
Make your board game and then play it. What, if any, changes
you would make to the board game? Make any changes, then
play your board game again. Teach your friends how to play.
