RANDOM POLICY OF THE WEEK!
Got Talent?
This week, we have a letter from a resident
regarding the policy of the week.
Show us what you got!
November 18, 2010 @ 7:00 pm
@ Guinan Lobby
I was assigned to interview two residents as a result of
my violation of the honor code. The first resident I interviewed
was aware that such a code was enforced wherein if a resident
witnesses a roommate or anyone else in violation of a rule, he
or she has a duty to report it. The second resident I interviewed
was not aware of the honor code. She was aware of the rules
about having guests of the opposite sex past midnight, but was
not aware that she was responsible for either asking the guest to
leave or report it to an R.A. After asking them of their
knowledge of the honor code I either informed them of it or
told them to share their knowledge with other residents.
According to the handbook, each resident of Guinan
has a responsibility to report any breaking of the rules to an
R.A. or a university official. This is not only to prevent any
violations, but also to protect those who live in Guinan and to
the community. I have learned that as a resident I have a

Laundry roomResidents, it has come to our attention
that the Guinan laundry room keeps
getting dirtier and dirtier. Please take
special care of the laundry room as all
residents use it.
Please follow all the signs posted and after
using a washer/drier, please ensure you
have all your clothes and clean up after
yourself.

rule is knowingly being broken there is a responsibility on
behalf of all students to report it for the benefit of others.

Dear residents,
The UST Basketball game at Rice this past weekend was very exciting! Our Celts played a great
game and even won the first half! Although, you didn’t leave with the win, you played a great game.
In other sports news, I wouldn’t be a true former student-athlete if I didn’t congratulate our Lady
Celts volleyball team for being named AII Conference Champs. You ladies have worked so hard this
season and you truly deserve it! All the best to you as you travel to NAIA National Tournament
this weekend. We are all rooting for you! HAVE A BLESSED WEEK!

Calendar of events
So as I was deciding what to do for my corner today, I thought
it might be fun to talk about urban legends. You know those
stories that start off as “ a friend of my cousin ’ s roommate
etc ” . These stories are usually entertaining, but many times,
they are not true. So here is a list of common urban legends
that you can verify through a website called snopes.com. Just
a little
warning before you try this; Snopes can be very
addictive. Please don ’ t try this around finals time. If you do
try it around finals time, please don ’ t blame it on me, I ’ ll just
deny everything.
