Quady North – Pistoleta, 2015 3 7 27 Rogue Valley. This dry white wine is a blend of Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, and Grenache Blanc that offers vibrant fruit aromas of melon and lychee. These same tones come across on the palate with the additional hint of orange and citrus, Pebblestone Viognier, 2015 3.25 8 34 Rogue Valley. This dry Viognier has stone fruit and apple on the nose, leading to a palate that shows apricot, white peach, and citrus acidity through the mid palate. The finish returns again to stone fruit, and begs for another sip. Roxy Ann Chardonnay, 2013 3.25 8 36 Rogue Valley. This crisp Chardonnay shows bright green apple with lemon hints on the nose. Spanish White Marqués de Cáceres, 2015 3 7 25 Rueda. 100% Verdejo pops with tropical fruit on the nose, focused on passion fruit, leading to a complex palate with pineapple and lemon zest with a clean mineral finish. Voted “Wine of the Summer” by Chef Mike Hite. Duquesa de Valladolid, 2015 3 7 26 Rueda. This 100% Verdejo shows tropical fruit and herbs on the nose, framed by solid minerality. On the palate it has green apple and pineapple with good mid body weight and a long finish for a Verdejo. Condes de Albarei Albariño, 2015 3 7 27 Rias Baixas. This crisp dry white from Northwest Spain offers notes of lemon zest and green apple, with high acidity and a clean finish. It is one of the classic white varietals of Spain. Oregon Rosé Quady North Rosé, 2015 3 7 26 Rogue Valley. This is a serious rosé, made from predominantly Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. This wine has a nose of strawberry and melon, leading to a dry, French style palate of melon with citrus, and food friendly acidity. Spanish Rosé Altés Garnatxa Negra Rosé, 2015 3 7 25 Terra Alta. This dry rosé of Garnacha is bright and crisp, showing strawberry on the nose, with a crisp and clean palate of strawberry, and Myer lemon. This classic Oregon Pinot Noir has bright red cherry on the nose with an earthy note, followed by a traditional palate of red fruit and tea. The slight oak on the mid palate gives depth to the wine, and the finish is delicate and sophisticated. Jaxon Tempranillo, 2013 3.75 9 38 Rogue Valley. One of our favorite local Tempranillos, this wine has a nose of dark cherry and plum framed by cocoa. On the palate it shows juicy cherry and plum with black currant, and well integrated tannins. Kriselle Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 3.75 9 38 Rogue Valley. This wine has red berry and plum on the nose with a hint of vanilla oak, leading to cherry, raspberry, and plum on the palate, with firm tannins on a ripe finish. Quady North Syrah “4-2,A”, 2013 38 Rogue Valley. This single vineyard wine has lush dark fruit framed by earth and spice on both the nose and palate, with beautiful silky tannins, great structure, and a long delicate finish. Slagle Creek “Pini” – Tempranillo Cabernernet Sauvignon, 2012 3.75 9 39 Applegate Valley. This blend brings together the best of both grape varietals with a nose of ripe dark cherry and hints of cocoa, leading to a lush palate that shows plum, cassis, and ripe dark fruit framed by vanilla oak on the finish with silky tannins. This award winning Syrah has a nose of dark fruit and earth with hints or pepper and spice. The palate is full with well integrated mid palate tannins, and flavors of cassis and dark cherry. Upper Five Tempranillo, 2014 46 Rogue Valley. Only their second vintage, this wine is quickly gaining acclaim and recognition. It has dark plum and cherry on the nose with notes of cocoa and tobacco. The palate is lush and ripe, focused on black cherry, plum, and black currant, leading to well integrated tannins on a long finish. House Label “Elemental Red” by Quady North, 2009 53 Rogue Valley. This private label was produced for us by our friends at Quady North. It is the 2009 Arsenal, reserved for only the best grapes each year, and produced in very small quantity. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot that shows deep ripe dark cherry and plum on the nose, leading to a ripe and lush wine on the palate with notes of cedar on the long finish. Red Lily Tempranillo, 2012 60 Applegate Valley. This 100% Tempranillo has a huge nose of black currant and plum, with cocoa and coffee undertones. On the palate it is rich and well structured, showing black cherry, plum, and rich toasted coffee. Half Bottles Rex Hill Pinot Noir, 2013 23 Willamette Valley. This wine has bright red cherry fruit with good acidity. It is a great food wine, built in the Burgundian style, with subtle tannins on the finish. Spanish Red 2oz Glass Bottle Pata Negra Crianza, 2011 23 Ribera del Duero. This wine has a nose that shows dark fruit with sweet spice tones, leading to a rich palate of black cherry and plum, and well integrated silky tannins. Iranzo Vertus Crianza Tempranillo, 2012 3 7 28 Utiel – Requena. This aged Tempranillo is from Spain’s oldest Estate Bottled winery – dating back to 1335. Produced from 100% organically grown grapes, it has a ripe nose of black currant and cocoa, with cherry on the palate with mild tannins on the finiah. Sarmiento Cuatro Pasos, 2012 3 7 32 Bierzo. This beautiful “New World” style wine made from 100% Mencia grapes has ripe black cherry and plum with hints of cocoa on the nose, leading to rich concentrated flavors of cherry, ripe berry, and black plum. The tannins are subtle and well integrated on the long, ripe finish. Bodegas Lan Reserva, 2010 3.25 8 35 Rioja. This more traditional “Old World” style Tempranillo has aromas of plum and ripe cherry, leading to rich flavors of dried cherry and dark chocolate accented by a long finish with American oak characteristics. Campo Viejo Gran Reserva, 2010 39 Rioja. Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuela grapes produce a wine rich in fruit aromas with a woody and spicy finish. The Gran Reserva designation is reserved for wines that have been aged a minimum of 2 years in oak and 3 years in the bottle before release. Escaladei – Black Slate, 2014 3.75 9 42 Priorat. This Garnacha blend is from the legendary region of Priorat, and has big ripe dark fruit and plum on the nose, leading to a palate that shows plumb and currant with good mid palate structure, and a finish that lingers with an herbal nature. Termes, 2012 50 Toro. This fantastic Tempranillo, produced by Numanthia, is grown in sandy soil on 30 year old un-grafted vines. It is profound and dense with rich dark fruit flavors and a long lasting finish that shows a mild hint of French oak. Alejandro Fernandez – Tinto Pesquera, 2012 58 Ribera del Duero. This Crianza was aged for 18 months in 90% American oak, and has a bouquet of ripe plum, cassis, and dried violets, followed by a palate of cassis and blackberry with spiced undertones. La Rioja Alta – “904”, 2005 92 Rioja. This aged wine shows hints of spice and leather against a background of ripe fruit on the nose. The dark fruits on the palate are rich, with well-structured tannins that lead to a beautiful finish with persistent hints of spice. Half Bottles Marqués de Riscal Reserva, 2008 24 Rioja. Made in the “Old World” style, this predominantly Tempranillo has rich plum and cassis on the nose framed by cocoa and coconut hints. On the palate it shows dark fruit with toasty oak leading to a long finish. La Rioja Alta – Viña Ardanza Reserva Especial, 2005 32 Rioja. This beautiful Tempranillo and Garnacha blend is warm, meaty, and flavorful. It has ripe fruit and well structured tannins, and a long, lingering finish. Special Cellar Wines We Think Are Amazing Descendientes de J. Palacios – Petalos, 2013 42 Bierzo, Spain. This 100% Garnacha benefits from the hot weather in Bierzo, making it a fruit forward, high alcohol offering that shows bright red and black currant on the nose. Dark berry and anise flavors gain firmness with air, leading to a gently tannic finish. This wine was #57 in The Wine Spectator’s top 100 wines of the year. Bohème Taylor Ridge Pinot Noir, 2012 68 Sonoma Coast. This wine is produced by a Medford native who is the grandson of the founder of the renowned Camus Winery. This elegant Pinot Noir has aromas of red cherry, sandalwood, and Christmas spice, leading to delicious red cherry and cranberry fruits on the palate, backed by supple tannins and a long finish with just a hint of oak. Domaine Serene Pinot Noir – Yamhill Cuvée, 2013 70 Willamette Valley, Yamhill – Carlton. Beautiful aromas of red fruit and raspberry dominate the nose, framed by cedar and oak notes. Incredibly smooth on the palate and finish, you will get ripe red fruit and cherry framed by subtle vanilla oak. Stag’s Leap – The Investor, 2013 72 Napa Valley. This vibrant and concentrated wine is a blend of Merlot, Petite Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe blackberry and black currant on the nose lead to ripe dark fruit and plum on the palate with hints of chocolate and lavender. It is a big bodied red with a velvety texture and long finish. Winderlea – Juliard Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2012 73 Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills. This Masculine single vineyard Pinot Noir has a beautiful nose of ripe raspberry and a hint of black tea. On the palate it has ripe raspberry and red cherry with well integrated tannins on the long finish. Alto Moncayo – Moncayo, 2013 77 Campo de Borja, Spain. This 100% old vine Garnacha has ripe aromas of black cherry, plum, and dark berry. On the palate, it shows rich ripe cherry. Some background oak is detectable, as well as a pleasant minerality, giving it a long, complex finish. Aalto, 2012 80 Ribera del Duero, Spain. This 100% Tempranillo has a nose strong in wood smoke and blackberry, with floral undertones. The palate is powerful, layered, and intense, with flavors of blackberry and currant. The finish is long and complex with great structre. Turnbull Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 84 Napa Valley. From the Oakville region of Napa, this estate grown wine encapsulates everything you would expect from a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. It has blackberry and crème de cassis on the nose, leading to a palate that has great tannic structure showing ripe dark cherry and plum. Pahlmeyer Merlot, 2013 90 Napa Valley. Black amethyst in color, this wine opens with aromas of boysenberry, violet, and vanilla. Intense flavors of black cherry and dark chocolate dominate the velvety palate, with good acidity and savory notes leading to a long and complex finish. Numanthia, 2011 98 Toro, Spain. Intense red and black fruit framed by vanilla, toasted cocoa, and tobacco are the first aromas from this 100% Tempranillo. The powerful palate is dominated by rich dark fruit, cocoa, and spice. This wine has some grip, and the velvety tannins are best served by a short decanting. Termanthia, 2010 250 Toro, Spain. This huge, bold Tempranillo is fresh and intense, with aromas of raspberry, red currant, and cherry, framed by violet and lavender. The palate continues the tour de force, with blackberry and cherry, finishing long with spice, mild oak, and toasty cocoa. Sherry Hidalgo La Gitana Manzilla 7 Jerez, Spain. Widely regarded as the authoritative manzanilla sherry, this wine is pale in color, offering a refreshing apple flavored dryness underscored by a salty tanginess. Lustau Amontillado 7 Jerez, Spain. This medium sherry is well rounded with a fragrant hazelnut nose. On the palate it is mild with a long, nutty, dried fruit finish. Barbadillo Pedro Ximanez 8 Jerez, Spain. This sweet sherry is made by letting the grapes dry first in the sun. It has very intense aromas of dried fruit and raisins, with a smooth long lasting finish. Port Abacela Port, 2013 8 Umpqua Valley. This traditional ruby style port is strong with fig, cocoa, and dried fruit on the nose. It has great texture and a long finish that is robust with candied cherry and raisins. Warre’s Otima 10 Year Tawny 10 Douro Valley, Portugal. This aged port shows concentrated flavors of caramel, honey, and dried fruit. The finish is long and dominated by toasted hazelnut. Warre’s Otima 20 Year Tawny 15 Douro Valley, Portugal. Made from only the best grapes of the Douro Valley, this incredible port is rich and velvety with an almost impossibly long nutty finish. Dessert Wine Roxy Anne Night Harvest Riesling, 2008 8 Rogue Valley. This wine has concentrated aromas of pineapple and orange zest with a vibrant, honeyed texture and rich acidity on the long sweet finish. Jorge Ordoñez Selecion Especial Muscatel, 2014 9 Douro Valley, Portugal. Fresh notes of orange and exotic spices dominate the intense nose of this dessert wine, leading to more orange on the palate with a final punch of minerality. Sparkling Wine Segura Viudas Brut Reserva, NV – 187ml split & 750ml Catalunya, Spain. This light and refreshing brut cava is crisp with dry apple flavors, spice and minerals. Argyle Brut, 2011 Willamete Valley. Crisp citrus notes with hints of roasted vanilla make this Oregon’s premiere sparkling wine. 6 25 39 Roederer Estate Brut, NV – 375ml split & 750ml 37 72 Anderson Valley, CA. This fresh medium bodied sparkling wine has light pear and pineapple aromas, followed by richer pear and citrus flavors, with subtle hints of baking spices. Moet et Chandon – Dom Perignon, 2004 185 Champagne France. A nose of fresh grapefruit is followed by a satiny texture with the slightest undertone of citrus zest.
