Baptisms are held on the second Sunday of every
month at 1:30pm. Please call the Rectory at least
one month before to make arrangements.

JULY 20, 2014—SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Dear Friends,
Allow me to express my sincere gratitude for all of your love, support, and prayers throughout my
years of formation for the priesthood in St. Joseph Seminary. Thank you for your incredible generosity to
me on the occasion of the celebration of my first Mass here at St. Theresa. Your presence at my first Mass
was truly impressive and something I will hold dear to my heart for the rest of my life. Thank you for all
the generous gifts that I received from you. Your generosity to me during this time was truly touching. To
Fr. Grippo, the priests, and staff of St. Theresa who made my ordination and first Mass celebration an
experience I will never forget I also express my gratitude. As you know I have been assigned to St. Rose of
Lima Parish in Washington Heights. I have begun my ministry to the people of that parish and I have
taken all that I have learned and experienced at St. Theresa with me to help me in my ministry to the good
people of St. Rose of Lima. The parishioners of St. Theresa helped form me to be a good priest since I was
a little boy, for this I am eternally grateful. I am also grateful for your continued prayers and support.
Please know that my prayers for all of you and your loved ones will continue throughout my years of
priesthood. Thank you for sharing your love of God and deep faith with me. Your dedication and
faithfulness to the people of God at St. Theresa Parish led me to the priesthood. Continue to pray daily that
other young men from this great parish will answer the call to priesthood. Below you will find my contact

St. Theresa Parish is blessed with many dedicated volunteers
who help to pass on our faith to the children of our parish
who attend public school, but there is always room for more.
We would welcome catechists, substitute catechists, hall
monitors, and classroom aides for our Sunday morning or
Wednesday evening religion classes.
If you think God might be calling you to service to our parish
youth please call Mrs. McCarrick at 718-792-8434.
FIRST FRIDAY
This Friday August 7th is First Friday we will have our Holy Hour
from 7:30-8:30PM and the church will remain open until
10:00PM for private adoration.
HANDICAP ENTRANCE TO THE CHURCH The side
entrance to the Church on Pilgrim Avenue will be open every
Sunday for anyone who is handicapped or in a wheelchair. Also,
this same entrance will be opened every weekday until 9:30AM.

Please continue to share the peace and joy of our faith with
others. There are so many that are in the need of Jesus. Can you
be for all of us a living sign to all our parishioners and neighbors,
and tell them for us “we need them and love them”. Someone
may hear and accept the invitation from you and return home to
worship the Lord with us. So please invite a friend, relative, or
neighbor to come with you to Church next Sunday. God will do
the rest. Let us share our treasure of faith with others.
PETITION BOOK – Have you noticed our Petition Book in the
vestibule of the Church? Every Saturday before the 5:00PM
Mass, the petitions entered into the book for that week are
brought up to the altar of the Blessed Mother, where they remain
for all the weekend Masses. Please pray for these intentions.
REMINDER TO ALTAR SERVERS : Please be sure to check
your schedules each week for the Mass you are assigned to serve.
If you cannot serve the Mass you have been assigned please make
sure you find a replacement. When you are at Mass on Saturday
or Sunday please check in the sacristy to see if we need your help
serving Mass.

18TH ANNUAL ST. THERESA FEAST
Our 18th Annual Summer Festival is currently underway. There’s plenty of great food, friendship, and fun to be had. So make plans to
attend.
THANK YOU—We would like to thank all of our parishioners and friends that have contributed to make our Feast a wonderful
gathering and celebration of our community.
PROCESSION ROUTE-Our procession with the Statue of St. Theresa will be held on Sunday (July 27th) beginning at 5:00PM. We
will actually be beginning the services at 4P:00PM in the Church with a Holy Hour. Please make every effort to share in this wonderful
afternoon of faith.
RAFFLE-By Sunday afternoon some lucky family or individual will be either $30,000.00 richer or driving a brand new Mercedes C300.
There’s still time to buy that winning raffle ticket. Just pick one up at the raffle table in front of the Church before 9:00PM Sunday. The
cost is only $100.00. As they say “you have to be in it to win it”. Thank you and good luck to all that have participated.
LOCAL RESIDENTS-We ask all of our parishioners to join us and say thank-you to those individuals that own homes or live within
the immediate area of our feast. We realize that at times during the week of our feast those local residents are inconvenienced. We thank
them for their understanding and patience. Many of them have told us that these inconveniences are greatly outweighed by the good that
