Charlie baxter First of all, Charlie is an old geezer and as with many true legends, we know very little about his past. For us the story begins in the early 1900’s. The first ever mention of Charlie Baxter is a postcard from the Pegu Club in Burma dated May 20th, 1910. It was addressed to his wife in England, but somehow got lost and eventually ended up in a postcard museum in Harlem where we found it after a lot of research. One of our companions met Charlie in Indonesia about a decade after that postcard was sent. After sleeping in back alleys, falling in and out of bars together and getting into all sorts of trouble, our traveling companion somehow convinced Charlie that the grass was greener in Copenhagen. One day he fell down the stairs into our little bar, scruffy, thirsty and hungry. We helped him to a big bowl of Tequila and to this day, he is still with us. Always slightly tipsy, he fights off demons and bad spirits for your convenience, all day, every day. Salud!
