ELLERMANN SUMMER FLOWER WORKSHOPS 2015
ELLERMANN FLOWER BOUTIQUE, Hong Kong’s premier florist, is offering a range of flower
workshops this summer. Led by Sydney-based floral expert Amelia Toohey – Floral Creative Director at The
Flower Era – Hong Kong is in for a treat! Not only will students get their hands dirty and creative juices
flowing, they will also leave with a bagful of floral knowledge and insider tricks!
A flower programmme consisting of 5 different workshops is available to be taken individually or
collectively from flower crown making to hand-tied bouquets to table setting. For those who sign up for
all 5 workshops, they will also receive a 10% discount as well as a special welcome pack and toolkit to start
off their floral venture! Top students will also get to chance to win an internship at Ellermann where they
get to experience day-to-day life at Ellermann and work on amazing projects and events alongside our
talented and creative team!
For the free-spirited, we also offer flower jamming where you and your friends can get wild [literally] and
create your own arrangements free style! And for parents who are looking for something creative to do
with the kids, we also do Junior Flower Jamming where you get to DIY your own container and create a
small arrangement to take home with.

ABOUT AMELIA TOOHEY,
OWNER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF THE FLOWER ERA
Amelia started her career as a florist at 19 years old but
the origins of her love of "old things" and nature go back
through the years. After many years of experience in
Australia she made the crossing to the UK with the
desire to work with flowers in events and took on life
and exciting and challenging life as a freelance florist.
As a freelance florist in London Amelia was fortunate to
create flowers for large, important events working
alongside some of the best florists in the world. Just a
few wonderful companies she worked for include Scarlet
and Violet, That Flower Shop, Woodbrown, Rob Van
Helden, Nikki Tibbles - Wild at Heart, Absolute
Flowers, Paul Thomas, Rebecca Law and many others.
The Flower Era in now based in a creative warehouse in
her home town of Sydney. Amelia’s studio is a reflection
of her time spent abroad and her love of collecting, It’s a
joyful workplace where she creates for events, weddings
and runs regular flower workshops to give back some
knowledge she has been gifted with by others over the years.
The Flower Era creates flowers for special events and weddings and Amelia also runs regular workshops
from her studio. Amelia has a strong philosophy that involves celebrating the free and wild forms of
seasonal flowers, using them as true to their natural form as possible by eliminating traditional floristry
teachings and constricted forms. Wedding and event design in The Flower Era style involves a dreamy
inclusion of the like of draping greenery, full vases, hanging garlands, blousy scented blooms and decadent
table arrangements, dripping with textures and rich in colour.
