One of my favorite things about living in the United States is our National Park Service (NPS). In August of 2016 the National Park Service turns 100 years old. When the sun sets we sneak up to the physical “big meadow,” lay in the grass and stare at the stars in peace. LAY IN THE GRASS Shenandoah National Park’s campgrounds are open in spring, summer, and fall. While you are roughing it in a tent or camper, the park does offer some of the comforts of home including showers, laundry, and a camp supply store. When you visit you are enjoying and sharing this space with plants, animals, and other campers. Remember that it is illegal to feed or disturb wildlife.
