BE WELL BE SAFE DAY Employees can stop by vendor booths to learn about different elements of their well-being— from biometric testing and financial wellbeing counseling to volunteer opportunities. Organizational leaders share why they prioritize employee well-being — and employees who attend receive points in the myWellness program. More than 700 employees attended Be Well Be Safe Day in 2016. ENERGIZED LUNCHEON Employees who achieve the top myWellness incentive level earn a free, heart-healthy lunch and hear well-being success stories from leaders across the organization. The event connects like-minded peers who make health and well-being a personal priority. More than 200 employees reached the program’s top ‘Energized Level’ in 2015, which required consistent engagement throughout the year. 3 | 2 SAN JUAN Sumas Generating Station WHATCOM PEND OREILLE 62 Miles / 124,000 Steps 2 SKAGIT 3 OKANOGAN FERRY 111 Miles / 222,000 Steps ISLAND Baker River Hydroelectric CLALLAM SNOHOMISH CHELAN JEFFERSON 1 KITSAP GRAYS HARBOR Bellevue Office 191 Miles 382,000 Steps Lower Snake River Wind Facility Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility DOUGLAS SPOKANE KING 4 LINCOLN MASON 1 KITTITAS 138 Miles / 276,000 Steps 3 STEVENS 5 GRANT ADAMS 4 PIERCE THURSTON WHITMAN 178 Miles / 356,000 Steps PACIFIC LEWIS Mint Farm Generating Station WAHKIAKUM 7 COWLITZ 7 FRANKLIN YAKIMA WALLA WALLA 221 Miles / 442,000 Steps CLARK KLICKITAT COLUMBIA 5 209 Miles / 418,000 Steps SKAMANIA PROMOTING WEARABLES GARFIELD BENTON 6 ASOTIN Goldendale Generating Station WALK AROUND PSE 6 PSE launched a team challenge, “Walk Around PSE,” encouraging employees to track their than 80 wearable devices and fitness apps, steps and take a virtual tour around PSE’s so it’s easy to track minutes, miles and steps iconic locations throughout the state. — and earn points along the way. But the company’s Limeade Well-Being Assessment data shows employees may need extra support in vital physical areas. In 2014, employee weight, heart health and blood sugar scores remained stagnant, and more than 60 percent of employees were overweight. PSE amplified its support by integrating coaching and weight loss partner programs into the myWellness program. WEIGHT WATCHERS PSE pays 50 percent of each WeightWatchers subscription and awards 200 myWellness points for enrolling in the program. “ONE EMPLOYEE HAS TO IGNITE YOUR LIFE COACHING LEAVE MY STAFF MEETINGS Eligible employees receive free access to ADURO “Ignite Your Life” coaching programs on nutrition, stress management, smoking cessation and more. Employees earn myWellness points for attending six virtual coaching sessions. By the end of the program, coaching participants consuming high levels of processed food reduced their intake by 88%. EVERY MONDAY 15 MINUTES EARLY SO HE CAN MAKE HIS WEIGHTWATCHERS WEIGH-IN — AND I THINK IT’S TERRIFIC. YOUR TEAM REALLY LOOKS TO YOU FOR GUIDANCE AND Leaders need to reinforce employee well-being on a daily basis and across every level and department. Leadership support is a key component of the myWellness at PSE program, and it starts with managers giving direct reports the freedom and flexibility for self-care during the work day. For example, managers in the IT department created a “no lunchtime meetings” rule to ensure employees have time to take breaks, get outside and run personal errands. 6 | EMULATES HOW YOU ACT IN THE OFFICE.” Susan, PSE employee USER STORIES “THE PROGRAM HAS REALLY HELPED ME IMPROVE MY SLEEP THROUGH AWARENESS OF HOW OFF COURSE I WAS...IT TOOK TIME TO BUILD UP TO DEVELOP GOOD HABITS, BUT NOW I’LL REGULARLY GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT.” Brian, PSE employee “I DECIDED TO SIGN UP FOR THE SEATTLE TO PORTLAND BIKE RIDE WHEN I STARTED GETTING MORE HEALTHY — I WAS LIKE ‘I CAN DO THIS.” Josh, PSE employee 7 | “OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR I’VE LOST 40 POUNDS.
