HIGHWAY CLEANUP OCTOBER 6TH
Please join in on Saturday October 6th for Skiyente highway clean-up. We will be
heading up the mountain to do our part in helping keep Mt. Hood beautiful by picking up roadside trash from our designated two miles on Hwy. 35.
We will be meeting at 10am at the ODOT parking lot located on Hwy 26 just
across the road from the turnoff to Timberline Lodge.
Bring gloves, a hat, and sun screen; hopefully it’ll be warm and sunny! We’ll provide
water, trash picker-uppers, and sexy orange vests to wear. The more hands, the
quicker the task and the sooner we can head to Charlie’s (or wherever!) for some
lunch and drinks!
Questions? Call Stacey Lee (310) 422-0282 or Lisa Diercksen (515) 231-0587

A BIT OF TRIVIA:
QUESTION: What is a parabolic ski?
ANSWER: A ski with side cut. When parabolic skis came out, they were very popular because
the side cut in them made it easier to turn. Now there are rules for how much side cut a ski can
have because it was getting dangerous.

CALLING ALL SKIYENTE MEMBERS NEED VINTAGE SKI GEAR!!!
Skiyente’s Ski Booth at the Ski Fair needs some old items for our display, i.e. old
goggles, vintage (1940-1959) ski clothing/boots/gloves/hats.
I am also requesting to know if there are any Cricut owners out there. I will supply paper for die cut picture frames for our display.
Please contact me if you can be of any assistance on these types of things.
Skiyente won the booth decorating contest last year. Let’s keep up the tradition!!!
Thanks!!
