Let us help you to build your Girl Scout knowledge and skills at Spring Leaderee! Participants may make their selections from our list of trainings and enrichments to custom‐create your own day full of activities, program ideas, and projects you can bring back to your troop and girls. Programs range from better ways to manage your troop, to projects you can share with your girls, to required skill trainings, like First Aid! Pre‐Registration is required; registration will close on Sunday, April 2 at midnight. You may visit the ACTIVITIES tab on the council website or My GS to register. $15.00 per person registration fee for Saturday only; includes lunch and refreshments. Who knows ‐ you may be encouraging a future Olympian! This course meets National Archery Association standards for a basic instructor. Register for sessions—A, B, C, and D. Basic Waterfront Skills – Canoeing This is a recommended course for anyone looking to take a Small Craft Safety ‐ Canoeing Training and Certification course. We'll teach you the basic strokes and maneuvers needed to set you up for success when you arrive at the certification course! Braided Friendship Bracelets – A Girl‐Led Session! One of the benefits of Girl Scouting is the friendships that are made! Learn how to make this simple, but oh‐so‐popular, braided friendship bracelet that you can share with your girls! The girls will love making these; they are a great time‐filling activity for girls and troops! Bronze Award Workshop Do you have a Junior troop and want to learn more about the Girl Scout Bronze Award? If so, this workshop is a great starting point. Learn the basics of the Bronze Award, ask any questions you have, and get the resources you need to support your troop. Brush Lettering Basics Learn basic brush lettering techniques as we go through the alphabet in this creative workshop you can take back to your troop. And, while you’re practicing, Tara will share ideas on how to use this technique to create cards, signs, and more! Camping Tips 101 Outdoor adventures and camping are amazing opportunities for girls to experience something new! Learn some great tips for your next adventure from two experienced outdoor enthusiasts and even a few things that you may not want to try! Community Service & Take Action Projects This session will prepare you to guide your girls on their Take Action Project! By offering girls new ways to see the world and opportunities to get involved in the community, you teach them the importance of helping others and giving back! Learn the difference between community service and take action projects and ideas for both in this inspiring session! This course is open to anyone interested in obtaining Adult and Pediatric (Child and Infant) First Aid/CPR/AED certification and serving as a First Aider. This course combines online work and instructor‐led practice and skill testing. Partipcants must be able to complete a minimum of two and a half hours of online coursework prior to attending training and be able to print off proof of completion for the instructor. A link to the online portion of the training will be emailed to all participants. Note : All participants registering for this class will receive a copy of the American Red Cross Student Manual (a $9.00 savings) as part of our Leaderee special! Register for Sessions B and C. P a g e 3 | 5 Easy Ways to Spark Girl‐Led Learning How we present concepts and ideas is what sparks a girl’s curiosity and thirst for more – whether it’s more outdoors, more STEM, or more fun! Learn how to use inquiry techniques to capitalize on your girls’ interests, spark their curiosity, and better engage them in the process of girl‐led! Environmental Programs You Can Do in Your Own Backyard You don't have to be an expert in order to explore the wonders of the environment with your girls! Join us for some quality time with nature: we'll learn fun activities for all ages that can be done just about anywhere...even your own backyard! Event Director Training Required for area event directors and those planning large events. Learn everything you need to know to plan, organize, and deliver fun (and safe!) events for the troops and girls in your local area! Participants will learn steps for completing required paperwork, how to engage your committee, planning tips, and more! Knot Board Fun Brush up on your skills and leave ready to teach your girls! Learn to tie a variety of knots and make a reference board to help your girls at your next campout! Additional fee for this session: $3.00 Lead Like a Girl An essential component of Girl Scouting is our commitment to encouraging and allowing girls to take the lead! From brainstorming an activity, to planning, it’s important that co‐leaders guide and encourage girls to lead. Learn valuable tips on how to let go and allow the girls to make decisions and lead! Legacy Badges and Crafts Girls love to earn badges! Learn more about Girl Scouts' Legacy badges and hear ideas for activities and crafts that you can incorporate into your troop plans! Instructor will share real‐life examples and provide you with ideas of badges that work across grade‐levels making this a great session for multi‐level troop leaders as well! Make and Take: Kwik Kaper Chart Learn how Kapers allow girls to lead in this session where you'll make and take a Kaper chart home with you for your troop! You'll love to watch the girls' eagerness to choose their job for the meeting and even more, you'll love to watch them lead! Additional fee for this session: $3.00 Money Earning 101 Take a deep dive into troop guidelines for money earning projects before you plan your next troop money earning project! In this session, we will review council guidelines, share ideas and examples, and allow time to answer questions. New Co‐Leader Orientation Got questions? We've got answers! Gain an in‐depth understanding of your role and responsibilities as a troop co‐leader, troop management, and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience as well as advice on ideas and best practices on parent and girl engagement. New Co‐Leader Orientation is required for at least one co‐leader in every troop; recommended for all new troop co‐leaders ‐ take it at Leaderee! Paracord Yeti Cup Handles Come join us and make a paracord handle for your favorite drink cup like a Yeti or Tervis in this easy‐to‐do workshop. You can use most any drink cup but you will need to bring your favorite cup with you to class. Learn how to identify different disruptive behaviors and strategies for managing them with modeling patience, tact, and respect. Spring Wreath Workshop Come have some fun and get into the spring spirit! In this workshop, you will learn how to make a colorful wreath out of plastic eggs. Additional fee for this session: $5.00 Team Building Activities for Girls and Troops Trying to find a fun way to get a group to work together more effectively? Want a quick game to start a meeting? Need to see some activities in action before trying them out on your group? Whether you are working on communication, goal setting, group bonding, or looking for fun ways to break the ice, this workshop will have ideas for you! Tie Dye Bandanas Participants will have a great time learning to Tie Dye with this simple method that can easily be done with the girls. Each participant will make and take (2) bandanas during the workshop. If you would like to try the technique on a t‐shirt, participants are welcome to bring along a white cotton t‐shirt of their own to complete in class. Additional fee for this session: $4.00 Traditional Girl Scout Ceremonies with a Twist Come and learn how to plan a Girl Scout Ceremony and decorate on a budget, you will even participate in a mock ceremony and make a decorative vase to use for your own ceremonies. Troop Banking Year Round Whether you’re opening a new bank account, making changes to your account, or submitting your Annual Financial Report, this interactive session is designed to help troops manage the troop bank account and complete the year‐end financial report. Perfect for new or returning troop treasurers, this session is packed with great information and ideas, with time for questions with council staff at the end. Troop Trips & Travel Would you and your girls like to travel to places near and far? Come and learn tips and tricks for planning a successful trip so your troop can add trips and travel to their program calendar! If your troop spends a lot of time camping, then this is for you! Make a PVC washstand as nice as your own kitchen sink! You'll have wash, rinse, and sanitize basins for all those camp dishes!
