We are in good company this year. Oktoberfest is September 16th, the same day that it starts in
Munich. What? That’s a long time off. I know it sounds like it but we are already in full
swing preparing for it. The Oktoberfest committee is accepting donated items for our live and
silent auction starting this month. I know you are probably thinking, “I’ve got plenty of time.”
Because it takes time to prepare and print the auction books and Oktoberfest is two weeks earlier this year, if you have items to donate, please turn them in by July 31st. There are Auction
Item donation forms on the credenza in the Narthex. We will be making announcements
throughout the next few months. Thank you so much for all of your support and helping us
make this year’s Oktoberfest the best. If you have questions, you can reach out to any of the
festival committee chairs: Anthony Lee, Darlene Childers, Candee Eischen, Mark Dunning,
John Lippe, Cindy and Sam Moss, Amy Brittain and Rebecca Ussery.

The Mystery of God

Who God Is and Why He Matters
A militant form of Atheism is on the rise. Skeptical
thinkers attack belief in God as irrational or, even
worse, dangerous. The so-called New Atheism has
attracted millions of young people thanks to bestselling books. How should we Christians respond?
How can we turn the ride of secularism and draw people back to God?
In The Mystery of God: Who God Is and Why He Matters, Bishop Robert Barron reaches into our rich intellectual tradition to teach us how. Using the insights of
St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, Pope Benedict XVI,
he uncovers a clear yet sophisticated understanding of
what we mean by “God.” This program is appropriate
for all age groups (middle school students, high school
students, college students, and adults).
On Tuesday, March 14th @ 7:00 p.m., our seminarian Robert will again, be offering Bishop Barron’s
The Mystery of God: Who God Is and Why He Matters, program.
To find out more information, please contact Robert
at [email protected] or stop by the parish office to sign up.
