Write a computer guide
While working at your summer job in a cybercafé, you are asked to create
a guide for Spanish-speaking customers. Include the café’s name, location,
hours, and prices. Explain what kinds of computers the café has and what
customers are able to do there, and give step-by-step instructions for
those who are unfamiliar with Internet activities. Your guide should have
illustrations and at least eight sentences.
Tell what is true or false
Work in a group of three. Take turns making statements about things you
or someone you know did or about your life now. Most of the statements
should be true but some should be made-up. The other members of your
group will say whether they think each statement is true or false. The winner
is the person who guessed correctly the most.
Create a TV ad
Work with a partner. Use the Internet to research an amusement park
in a Spanish-speaking country. Then write the script for a TV ad for the
park, mentioning the name, days and hours of operation, prices, and rides,
including any special facts or features. Also tell people how they can get there
from the nearest city. Record the ad or present it to the class.
Give advice to another teen
You run an advice column on the Web for other teens. Read this e-mail
that a student sent to you and write a response, telling him what to do. Use
affirmative tú commands, deber, and tener que in your response. Your
e-mail should include at least six pieces of advice.
Hola. Soy estudiante del primer año de español. Tengo un
problema y necesito tu ayuda. Me gusta aprender el
español, pero muchas veces saco malas notas en los
exámenes. La clase es interesante y escucho a la
maestra, pero no entiendo nada. ¿Qué debo hacer?
Muchas gracias.
