1. JVC 3D LUT file for GY-LS300
JVC provides two 3D-LUT files, one is “Tungsten LUT” which is fit if the color temperature is 3200K,
the other is “Daylight LUT” which is fit for the 5600K.

How to use 3D-LUT with AVID MEDIA COMPOSER

● Preparing
・GY-LS300 movie clip with J-Log1 gamma mode
・JVC 3D-LUT（.cube）file for Media Composer

Avid Media Composer procedure example
PROCEDURE １：
Put video clip(s) recorded with J-log of GY-LS300 on the timeline of Media Composer

Click ‘ Color Management ’ in Setting list of Media Composer ,and click ‘Open’

Open Color Management Settings , and then click Select LUT file button.
Open Browser indicated . Go to the folder and select .cube file, and then click open button.

PROCEDURE 2
To adjust black level of 0% and avoid to clip Dynamic range 800% signal in Super White area , adjust
level before 3D-LUT applied.
Usually do according to procedure bellows to apply black level and white level properly with LUT.
Drag & drop Color Effect icon in the Image of LIST Video Effects.

While pushing Alt key ( Option button of Mac)
Click Effect
Drag Color LUT in the image Effects List to target clip.
Mode button , and Effect Editor indicated.
Click Available LUTs button , and indicated 3D-LUTs. Select demanding LUT

After
procedure 1
Select clip(s) imported in Bin , and right-click .
LIST indicated ,
and click Source Settings…
in the
LIST.

Select Levels scaling(video levels to full range) in the Pull-down MENU of Color Encoding on Source
setting screen. After selecting , click ADD button .and then Levels scaling(video levels to full range)
indicated in the list box of Color transformations.

Select 3D-LUT in the Color Encoding pull-down MENU of Source Settings. And then click ADD button.

Click Apply button and click OK button , and procedure is completed
These clips in the Bin applied 3D-LUT , treated level adjusted and 3D-LUT applied ,can be put on the
timeline .

PROCEDURE 4: USER COLOR TUNING
You can add any color effects after the standard LUT applied.
In J-Log1 DETAIL(sharpness effect) doesn’t work. It can be adjusted detail value with
Plug-in software which add sharpness function in Media Composer. And with Effect and Color Correction
of Media Composer can be also used.
