In your town there is a piece of land that is in the shape of a right triangle with the dimensions shown.
Find the perimeter of the piece of land. Note: you do not know the 2 acute angles so we cannot use the 45‐45‐90 or 30‐60‐90 Special Right Triangle rules we just learned. The town is going to plant rosebushes every twelve feet around the land’s edge. How many rosebushes does the town need? If each rosebush costs $18, how much will the all of the rosebushes cost? 10. A symmetrical canyon is 4850 feet deep. A river runs through the canyon at its deepest point. The angle of depression from each side of the canyon to the river is 600. Round to the nearest tenth. Find the distance across the canyon.
Find the length of the canyon wall from the edge to the river. Is it more or less than a mile across the canyon (5280 feet = 1 mile)?
