Term 2 Week 9 09/06/2016 Message from the Principal… Dear Parents, As you would be aware this week St. Margaret Mary’s Primary School underwent our Review. On Monday, panel groups including: Students, Parents, Staff, Leadership and Parish met with our Reviewer, Noela Hyams to discuss our journey over the past four years. As a result of these discussions, today, the Leadership Team is working with CEM staff and Noela to begin to set the direction for the next four years. In the coming month the school will be provided with feedback from Noela in regards to our review which will be initially shared with the School Education Advisory board and then the wider community. I would particularly like to thank, Jo Prior, Marg Marotti, Amanda D’Rozario, Liz Stratford, Jacintha Anders, Georgina and Michael Dragwidge, Jess Cole, Kirsty Hermans and Ray Nashar for volunteering to represent our parent community and for their input on the day. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our very talented young students who contributed to the Student panel. Thank you to Anthony de Paz, Oliver Cole, Meagan Campbell, Edwina Cwikowski, Charlotte McGuinness, Noah McGee, Finn Waterford, Charlotte Stratford, Bethany Prior and Anthony Yacoub for sharing your views about our school. Thank you also to Marie Van der Weert (Parish Pastoral Associate) who stood in for Fr. Anthony in our Review. Marie has worked in the parish for a number of years and both she and Aileen Martin (Parish Pastoral Associate) have worked closely with the school and have a great point of view on our journey over the last four years. Finally, I would particularly like to thank all the staff of St. Margaret Mary’s including Mrs. O’Dwyer who came back for our Review. Over the last year and a half we have worked extremely hard to make sure that everything that we needed to have in place for the review was done, especially around the VRQA. Staff have had numerous opportunities for input throughout the process and have certainly given their all in putting together the Self Reflection Report. Thank you all for all your hard work - particularly members of the Leadership Team. Your support throughout this process has been much appreciated. I am excited looking forward to the future for our school. I am sure the results of the review, no matter what they are will help us set the direction to make St. Margaret Mary’s a school that we can all be very proud of and where every child gets the education that they are entitled to. Working Bee Last Saturday, we had our second ‘Working Bee’ for the year. This term’s working bee was led by the Middle teachers and students. Next term’s working bee will be lead by our Senior level. FSG BBQ at Bunnings On the weekend the FSG ran a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings in Altona North.
