RED RIBBON WEEK October 26 – October 30 Clay Charter Academy Week Long Event: “The Best Me is Drug-Free” o Grades K-3 Poster Contest – All classes will create a poster that promotes drug-free living (done via art). o Grades 4-6 Essay Contest- Choose one of three essay topics from essay contest form that will be distribute to all teachers (optional or can be assigned as homework). P.E. : Students will take healthy walks Art : Students will complete various art posters that represent Red Ribbon Week Tech : Students will visit various Red Ribbon sites Music : Students will sing a song that represents being Drug-Free. Monday, October 26 “Shade Out Drugs” – wear sunglasses Tuesday, October 27 “Sock it to Drugs” – wear crazy or mismatched socks Wednesday, October 28 “WILD About Being Drug Free” – crazy hair day Thursday, October 29 “Put a Cap on Drugs” – wear hats Friday, October 30 – Students will sign “I Have the Power to be Drug Free” – drug free pledge in lunch. wear your favorite super hero accessory (cape, cap, etc. no weapons)
