CHICO POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE 530-897-4900 Update Suspect Arrested Type of Incident: Attempted Robbery Location of Incident: Walgreens, 860 East Avenue, Chico, CA Date/Time Occurred: 2-11-13 0500 hours Incident Case Number: 13-1041 Victim: Walgreens Suspect: Reeve Mikkelson, 30 year old Chico resident, arrested on Friday, March 13, 2013. Narrative On 2-11-13 CPD patrol officers were dispatched to Walgreens for a reported burglary/attempted robbery. The suspect had approached the pharmacy clerk and passed a note demanding she give him all of the pharmacy’s Oxycontin. Though frightened, she told him no and retreated. The suspect fled empty handed. Surveillance images were given to the media in press releases previous to this one. That resulted in several calls from citizens identifying the suspect as 30 year old Reeve Mikkeloson. Detectives served a search warrant at his residence in Chico. They later obtained an arrest warrant for Mikkelson for burglary and attempted robbery. Mikkelson became aware that he was wanted and turned himself in on March 13, 2013. Scott Franssen Date/Time: March 21, 2013 CHICO POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE 530-897-4900 Type of Incident: Attempt Robbery Location of Incident: 860 East Avenue Walgreens Date/Time Occurred: 02/11/13 0500 Date/Time of Arrest: N/A Incident Case Number: 13-1041 Victim: Walgreens Suspect: White male Narrative: On 02/11/13 at about 0511 hours, a store employee from the East Avenue Walgreens 860 East Avenue called to report a robbery had just occurred. The employee was relaying information to CPD dispatch from another employee who thought the suspect may still be inside the business. The first officer arrived within 4 minutes of the initial call. Upon further investigation, officers determined the suspect was no longer inside the business and had fled prior to their arrival. According to the reporting party, the suspect, described as a white male adult 6', 185 with brown colored shoulder length hair, entered the store and proceeded to the 24 hour pharmacy counter where he passed a note demanding the pharmacy clerk give him their inventory of Oxycodone. The pharmacy clerk refused to give him the narcotics. The suspect warned the clerk not to call the police then fled the business. No weapons were seen or mentioned and it is unknown if any vehicles are associated.
