We recognise that franchised business typically produce much higher top line sales than similar
businesses under employed manager control. With our systems in place and motivated
franchisees capitalising on the local market, we are confident that City Edge franchises will
quickly outperform their competitors with higher occupancies and better profits.
Why membership?
A City Edge membership is an ideal way for an existing accommodation operator to take
advantage of City Edge’s industry profile and proven systems. A membership does not offer the
full franchise model but does offer substantial support to advance your business.

the serviced apartment and hotel accommodation market. Moreover, we have developed
systems and processes that can be seamlessly replicated across new sites/locations and
successfully imparted to motivated franchisees and members.

Serviced apartments, hotels and motels
The accommodation industry has experienced many trends over the last 10 years – the most
crucial being the shift in consumer demand away from traditional upscale hotels to a more
pay-only-for-what-you-use model.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics:

Since 2005, the number of serviced apartment rooms on offer in
Australia has grown from 30,000 to more than 100,000 (333%).
Compared to non-serviced apartment rooms on offer (from 120,000 to
150,000), which is around 25% for the same period

In terms of annual room nights sold, serviced apartments have grown
by 63% compared to non-serviced apartment room nights of 15% over
the same period

The outlook in 2017 and beyond is encouraging with revenue growth
expected to reach 6% reflecting the low level of supply across most of
the industry
