Basketball Leagues
Youth Dances
Our recently renovated weight room
offers a variety of free-weights, strength
machines, medicine balls, kettlebells
and other equipment.
Carolina Beach Parks & Recreation hosts
basketball leagues for males and females
ages 30 and older and youth ages 6 -17.
Youth League runs November through
March and Adult League from March to May.
Cardiovascular Room
New for 2017 - Treadmills, ellipticals,
bikes and a stair-stepper are available for
effective cardio-respiratory health.
Racquetball Room
A regulation size court along with
racquets, balls and goggles are provided.
*Must be 16 years or older to use the
above facilities*
Multi-Purpose Room
Our upstairs space has newly installed
wood aerobics floors along with ballet
bars. With the addition of a 72 inch
screen, it’s a great area to host meetings
or attend an exercise class!
Basketball Courts
Join us on our newly installed floors for
adult/youth leagues, pick-up games and
free-play on one of our 6 basketball goals.
Pickleball
New for 2016 - Pickleball! Check out our
pickleball courts in our gymnasium. Lines
are painted for 2 courts and all equipment
is provided!

Summer Day Camp
Fun and exciting camps available for kids
ages 6 - 13. A great way to meet new
friends, learn about the coastal environment
and just have an enjoyable summer!
Campers travel throughout New Hanover
County for fun trips & adventurous activities!
Exercise Classes
We provide a variety of exercise classes to
accommodate any participant! Choose from
zumba, step aerobics, dance, Tae Kwon Do,
Karate, strength training or any other
exhilarating class.
Beach Wheelchairs
We have several beach wheelchairs
(including 3 WaterWheels) available by
reservation up to one week. Please contact
the Recreation Center Staff to reserve your
free beach wheelchair!
A fun, safe event for kids ages 6 - 12.
Activities include dancing to music
provided by a DJ, winning prizes and
socializing with friends.
Easter Egg Hunt
Games, crafts, prizes and an Easter
Egg Hunt for kids 12 and under held at
Mike Chappell Park, with a special
appearance by the Easter Bunny!
Youth Fishing Tournament
Reel in the big one at the Kure Beach
Pier! Kids ages 5 - 15 can compete
using their fishing skills for trophies and
prizes. Loads of give-a-ways and tons
of fun!
Fall Festival
A family event filled with games, prizes,
candy, bounce house, music and fun!
A costume contest ends the festivities
so dress to impress!
Cookies with Santa
Join us at the Carolina Beach
Boardwalk for this cheery holiday event!
Children will enjoy delicious cookies,
hot chocolate and get to visit with Santa
in his secret workshop!
