Use the information below for specific information about subscriptions on your Kindle DX. Starting a Subscription on Kindle DX You can start a subscription to a newspaper or magazine on your Kindle DX through the Kindle Store. With your device connected wirelessly, from the Home screen, press Menu and select Shop in Kindle Store. Choose the Newspapers or Magazines category to start shopping for Kindle subscription content. You can also search for subscription content in the Kindle Store at Amazon.com. Click the "Subscribe now with 1-Click" button. You can choose which Kindle device registered to your Amazon account you would like the subscription delivered to from the dropdown menu. If a single issue is available for purchase without a subscription, you'll also see that option. Note: Your Kindle DX must first be registered to your Amazon account to purchase and deliver content to your device. Items Available Via Subscription on Kindle DX Magazines and newspapers in text view Text view allows you to navigate articles easily with the same reading experience as Kindle books. Special access for some Kindle newspaper subscribers Your subscription to the Kindle edition of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal also grants you additional access to these publications. Blogs When you subscribe to your favorite blog through your Kindle device, it will display as a single entry, like books. When you sync your device to check for new items, your Kindle will download the complete feed so you can read your blogs offline. Blogs are available for U.S. and UK customers. Reading Your Subscriptions on Kindle DX When you open your Kindle subscription content, you will see navigation options at the bottom of the screen: View Section List -- takes you to the section list of a newspaper, magazine or blog when you press the 5-way controller. Use the 5-way controller to select the section or article you'd like to view. Next Article -- advances you to the next article. Previous article -- takes you to the previous article. You may also press the Menu button when reading your Kindle subscription content for more options, including adding notes or highlights, search, and to keep the issue. Select Clip This Article to save a copy of the entire article to your "My Clippings" file, available from the Home screen. Zooming in on Images To zoom in on an image, web page, or PDF document, position the cursor over the image using the 5way controller. A magnifying glass icon will appear. Press the 5-way controller to zoom in; press it again to zoom out. The display may change from portrait or landscape to maximize the display. Viewing a Table Your Kindle subscription content may contain large tables. If an entire table is not displayed, move the 5way controller up or down and then place the cursor to the left of the table. Selecting Links Your Kindle subscription content may also contain links to other sections within your magazine, newspaper, or blog. Links are easy to spot because they are underlined. To select a link: 1. Move the 5-way controller over the link. The cursor changes to look like this: 2. Press the 5-way controller to select the link. Your Kindle subscription content may also contain external links to locations on the web. The web browser will open automatically if your Kindle DX is connected wirelessly. Keeping Subscription Content on Kindle DX Back issues of Kindle subscription content appear inside the Periodicals: Back Issues folder on your Kindle Home screen. Select this folder to view the back issues stored on your Kindle DX. Only the seven most recent issues of your magazine subscriptions, and the 14 most recent issues of your newspaper subscriptions, will be stored in your Archived Items on your device. Back issues of magazines and newspapers that you subscribe to are stored and available to download again from the Manage Your Content and Devices page (http://www.amazon.com/mycd). To keep a back issue: 1. From the Home screen, select the title you wish to keep using the 5-way controller, either directly from the Home screen or within the Periodicals: Back Issues folder. 2. Press the 5-way controller to the right to display available options. 3. Select Keep This Issue. The word "Keep" now appears next to the title. Subscription Content Issues If any content you purchase from the Kindle Store appears to be formatted incorrectly or is missing text, please visit the "Contact Us" box in the right-hand column of the Help pages to contact Customer Service. We work very hard to ensure the quality of all items you purchase from the Kindle Store, and Customer Service can help determine the cause of the error. Kindle Newspaper and Magazine Privacy and Security We will share the name, billing address, and order information associated with your newspaper or magazine purchase with the publisher. Publishers may use this information for marketing purposes. We or publishers may share this information with a circulation-auditing organization, such as the Audit Bureau of Circulation and BPA Worldwide. If you wish to receive e-mails directly from the publisher, for example to learn when new issues are available, you can update your privacy settings for your subscription at Manage Your Content and Devices.
