Speech at the Opening of the New Library
1. How does the speaker feel
about the new library?
_______________________
Good morning, children and teachers. We are here
today to launch our new library. We will cut a ribbon
to open its doors to one and all. I hope you will think
of this day as a great step forward for our school. It
will help bring us all into a brighter future.
In olden days, libraries held books, papers, and
magazines. Before radio or TV, libraries were the
home of fact, fiction, and news. Today’s libraries still
hold millions of words in print. But we now have
new ways to read those words. We use computers
and the Internet to make our library more modern.
If you are curious, our library can help open
your mind. If you have a question, our library can
help you find an answer.
I thank all who made this improvement possible.
