Introduction Important objectives regarding implementation of environmental protection in the facilities of the Vienna City Administration include reduction of resource consumption (e.g. energy), prevention of substances harmful to the environment, prevention and reduction of waste, the ecologically appropriate treatment of unavoidable waste, as well as reduction of noise and hazardous substances at the work place. The City of Vienna aims at reusing and recycling of used product components. The procured flatbed scanners shall therefore have the following properties: Low energy consumption Repairability 2 2. Minimum requirements of the provisions in the specification The following criteria apply to sheet feed (ADF) scanners: The specification needs to contain at least the following minimum requirements: Energy consumption Depending on the document size, the scanner shall have the following maximum energy input in idle mode and in energy-saving mode: A4 sheet feed scanner: Operating state 44.5 Watt, standby mode 12 Watt, energy-saving mode (sleep mode) 1.6 Watt A4 scanner without ADF: Operating state 12 Watt, standby mode 5.5 Watt, energy-saving mode (sleep mode) 3.7 Watt A3 scanner without ADF: Operating state 25.5 Watt, standby mode 9.5 Watt, energy-saving mode (sleep mode) 1.5 Watt Repairability Contractors shall provide the ordering party with spare parts or replacement (scanner, transparency unit) free of charge during repair for a warranty period of one year. Contractors shall collect defective devices or parts thereof and replace them with properly functioning devices. Defective devices shall be repaired if possible and reinserted during follow-up repair services. At delivery, contractors shall provide the ordering party with a complete set of technical manuals and a list of spare parts adapted to the device. 3 Data sheets Prevailing data sheets for minimum requirements shall be provided. Minimum requirements not specified in the data sheets are to be produced in the appropriate form upon special request of the ordering party. 3. Packaging Halogenated polymers are in principle undesirable in packaging. Tenderers shall state, whether and in which collection and recycling system according to section 11 of the 1996 Regulation on Packaging, Federal Law Gazette (BGBl.) II No 648/1996 in the applicable version they are participating in. If they are not participating in a collection and recycling system they shall state which measures they take to recollect the packaging put into circulation. 4
