Total Power is growing, and currently looking for a Rental Sales Representative out of
our Mississauga office.
The Rental Sales Representative will have direct responsibility and accountability for
renting power generation solutions to a specific set of customers in a pre-defined
geographical area (ON).
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


Be the ‘point person’ for general incoming rental inquiries
Work with potential and existing customers to promote and develop rental
business and to rent the Company’s products - including:
o Preparing, coordinating and delivering timely and accurate proposals and
quotations
o Collaborating with colleagues to promote TPL products and to facilitate
smooth projects including planning, monitoring, logistics, installations &
invoicing
o Coordinating with vendors and sub-trades as required to ensure
successful projects
o Actively pursuing information which will benefit the Rental (and Sales)
Department
o Utilizing internal / external resources to assist in achieving these goals
o Attending site visits as required
o Manage rentals with the aim of achieving gross margins and revenue that
exceed forecasts.
o Maximize utilization of rental fleet
o Regularly and accurately populate the company’s business and contact
tracking tools, (eg. CRM)
o Develop and maintain a customer and prospect list
o ‘Cold Calling’ functions
o Provide regular and assertive follow up on outstanding quotes

Read and interpret engineered specifications (if applicable) and create proposals
for customers to meet ‘tender’ closing deadlines
Take a proactive approach to estimating to maximize the company’s chance for
winning projects – have input into what is quoted
Maintain an accurate and complete Opportunity Log with supporting
documentation
Other related duties as assigned.



Education and other Requirements:











3 years related outside sales experience required, preferably selling similar
industrial rental products
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical theory and engines would be an
asset.
Minimum college-level courses in a related discipline preferred.
Experience using sales tracking software preferred.
The ability to professionally handle sales rejection required.
Experience and confidence in making sales presentations a must.
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office program(s) required
A reliable vehicle and suitable drivers abstract is required, as local travel
throughout the GTA is a big part of the job.
Lifting up to 50lbs may be required from time to time.
In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of
Government in Ontario, be available for work.
