Rape of Nanjing How did the massacre begin? Japan and China fought at the Marco Polo where the Japanese were bitter How long did this occur? 6 weeks Explain what occurred during this massacre? The Japanese bombed the city from December 9-­‐12. They entered in on the 13th and took siege of the city. They also attacked the people and army systematically – killing 300,000 in 6 weeks.
