Notice for Arrangements for Improvement in Local Competitions
To enhance safety for the local competitions and improve the arrangements for enrollment of the
competitions, the following arrangements will be implemented with effect on 1st January 2014:

The Minimum Age of Participants Entering the Youth and Adult Competitions

Festival of Sports – Under-14 Fencing Championships
Under-14 Fencing Championships
Under-14 Challenge Cup Fencing Championships

The minimum age : Participants take part in the competitions are stated as above must be
13 years old before 1st January in the year of the competitions.

Enrollment will be accepted starting in 6 weeks before the competition dates. The
enrollment period will be in 4 weeks. No entry will be accepted in 1 week before the
competition dates. For details of all competition dates, please refer to the latest notice for
the “Local Competition Calendar” and entry forms of the competitions. The entry forms
can be downloaded on the Association’s website according to the calendar.

For successful enrollment, a complete entry form with exact entry fee must be returned to
this office of Hong Kong Fencing Association on or before the closing date. If omissions
of entry form/entry fee or any incomplete entry form which will not be proceeded.
Telephone, e-mail and fax enrollment will not be entertained.

An extra HKD200 per event will be charged as additional administrative fee for late
entries on top of entry fee.

No entry will be accepted at the competition venue.
Enhancing Safety Requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment

Festival of Sports – Under-14 Fencing Championships

All participants are requested to bring along with the mask reporting at the competition
venue, the mask will be immediately check after reporting. The mask passed in the prior
weapon check which is approved to use on the event day.

All participants must wear an 800N under-plastron which conforms to the FIE rules for
taking part in the competitions are stated as above.

All participants take part in the under-14 events who must extra wear a “Chest Protector”
for competition.

The Ground Supervisor shall disqualify any participant who does not comply with the
above requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment.
