Board appoints leaders to Anderson-Livsey and Magill
elementary schools
At a special called meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education
named Christine Knox, currently the principal of Head Elementary School,
as the new principal of Anderson-Livsey Elementary School and Dr. Tonya
Burnley, who currently leads Gwin Oaks Elementary School, as the principal
of Magill Elementary School. Knox will succeed Principal Janice Warren
who will retire from the school system in the fall. Dr. Burnley will fill the
vacancy created as sitting principal Crystal Collins accepts the position of
Director of Innovation and Education in the private sector. Both appointments
are effective July 3, 2017.
