The Mercy Corps symbol expresses a human gesture of freedom, independence and
optimism. The Mercy Corps logotype consists of custom letters. The logotype renders
the name as one word with a capital “M” and “C.”
Please note that when “Mercy Corps” is used as part of the logo or in text it should
never be translated into a local language or alphabet. In text Mercy Corps is written
as two separate words.

The logotype should never be retypeset or recreated. The simplicity of the logo’s
elements allow it to be reproduced well at small sizes, using a wide range of
techniques. The guidelines for both elements are illustrated on the following page.
DO NOT SEPARATE THE SYMBOL FROM THE LOGOTYPE.

BASIC LOGO STANDARDS
PRIMARY LOGO
The primary logo is the appropriate choice for nearly
all applications. Please refer to the color and safety
area instructions below for brand compliance.
SECURITY LOGO
While it is important to use the primary (horizontal) logo
whenever possible, there will be occasions when a
more vertical logo is necessary. This version should
never be used on letterhead, business cards or other
stationery pieces.
SAFETY AREA
To ensure good readability, provide plenty of space
around the Mercy Corps logo to ensure visibility and
impact. This is called a “safety area.” Use the safety
area between the logo and other graphic elements
such as type, images, other logos and the edge of
the page so the logo retains strong presence
wherever it appears.
COLOR
The only colors that are appropriate for logo
reproduction are red (PMS 201C), black and white.
No other colors are permitted. On contrasting
colored backgrounds the logo should reverse
out to white.
