Think Spring!
It’s time to look forward to warming weather and blooming daffodils. Our students will be looking for
signs of spring throughout the coming few weeks, and you can enjoy doing that with them at home, too. This
month, we’ll be learning about travel, transportation, and things that move.
Our registration for next year is off to a great start, and we’re delighted that so many of you will be
back for the 2017-2018 school year. We still have some seats available, so if you have neighbors, friends, or
family who are looking for a preschool, please have them give us a call. Our best advertising comes from
families like yours!
Remember to send your student to school with clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather, and
please continue to help your child develop independence in zipping or buttoning his/her jacket.
Project Cutters
Many thanks to Amber Fortney and all the parents
who help with Project Cutters. The next
gathering of the Project Cutters will be Monday,
March 6th at 9:00 in room 114. Come join us for
some conversation and help the school at the same
time. Little ones are always welcome!
Backpack Buddies
Thank you for your generous donations to
Backpack Buddies! You continue to make
an immeasurable difference in
the lives of needy children!
This month, we’ll be collecting individual
fruit cups/ applesauce cups.

4-Year-Old News
This month, our 4-year-olds will be studying things that move. The unit will include
travel and transportation, mysterious movers (such as wind and the ocean), and
animals. We’ll continue to help the children learn to write their names with capital
and lower case letters, and we’ll have a special visit by a school bus, learn about bus

USO Book Drive – United Through Reading
Thank you very much for the books you donated to the “United Through
Reading” program in February, and to the Rollin family for delivering them to the
USO at BWI airport, where they’ll make many families very happy. What
generous families we have!!
Many thanks to our volunteers who helped put away tables and chairs when we had to
cancel our last Family Fun Night due to a water main repair. And thank you to the
families that drove over to the school to pick up your pizza orders. We were disappointed
to have to cancel and were not able to reschedule with the church’s calendar.
Family Fun Night:
Eco Adventures presents
Animal Super Powers
Friday, March 31st, 5:30-7:30
p.m.
Eco Adventures is coming to SPUMCNS for our Spring Family Fun Night!!
You’re probably familiar with Super heroes like Superman, Mr. Incredible,
Wonder Woman, and the Incredible Hulk, who use their super powers to fight off
super villains. They all have very special abilities that they use to survive, just like
many animals in the wild. That’s right: many animals you might be familiar with
also have SUPER POWERS! EcoAdventures will be introducing children to the
most amazing Super heroes in the animal Kingdom!! Which animal has the
strongest bite? Can climb walls, or virtually disappear, or even can stretch like a
rubber band? Spectators beware: are you brave enough to volunteer and let a
tarantula crawl up your belly, wrestle a giant snake or a gator? Get all the
answers in this fascinating exploration of the super powers of some of nature’s
most amazing animals. Live animals will be on hand to demonstrate their super
powers up close and personal. NOTE: Super Villains unwelcome at this
presentation! Capes are optional. 
The Parent Group will provide drinks, munchies and dessert. You may order a
pizza to enjoy before the program if you’d like. Look for fliers to come out later
this month.
We need volunteers to help with set up and clean up. We can’t have these
awesome events without parent volunteers. Please visit the Sign Up Genius to
volunteer.
