 Teachers
For our 6 year anniversary, we have prepared for you an explosive cocktail of teachers:
 Sonya & Stephen White
Sonya is from Montreal, Quebec, Canada (not to mix
with the rest of Canada or France). With a background in
salsa and latin street dance for 7 years, she brings a unique
touch to her West Coast. Passionate about different dances
- Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz, Classic etc.- she is also fluent in 5
languages and can therefore teach different dances, in
different ways and in different languages! She is even able to
translate the "southern" Stephen has a tendency to talk.
Stephen is a lover of swing dances, and today he
travels all around the world to teach, choreograph,
participate in competitions and of course dance! "The most
pale man" in the world of Swing is known for his offbeat
spirit, his funny way of teaching and his passion for social
dancing. Make sure he is not too much exposed to sun!
Together with Sonya, they travel around the world and walk
the Swing circuits…
 Henriette & Gordian « BeGo »
For Henriette & Gordian, West Coast Swing is
the best couple dance. They have discovered it and are
completely passionate about it since ;o). They are
changing the West Coast Swing scene in Freiburg in
Germany, while traveling everywhere to share their
passion.
As dancers, teachers and couple in real life, they share
what they have learned on their course in European
and American West Coast Swing world. They were
trained by the best: Miles Munroe & Tessa
Cunningham Munroe, Michael Kiehm, Robert Royston,
Marc Heldt, Jang Widler, Nicolas Bourgeais, Mario
Robau, Melanie Stocker, Maxence Martin.
They particularly cherish the notion of "social dance »
in west coast swing.
 Workshops - schedule and levels
The schedule is available here:
http://westcoastconnexion.com/pdfs/2016.11%20stage%206%20ans%20infos%20generales.pdf
4 levels available:
BEGINNER:
Come discover the West Coast Swing richness, a fun dance for couples, elegant and relaxed at
once, which is attracting more and more dancers in Europe, especially in France and Strasbourg!
The West Coast allows you to dance in couple, and have fun on different musical styles such as
RnB, Dance, Pop, Soul, Funk, Blues...No partner? Who cares? During the registration, West Coast
Connexion will ensure the balance of classrooms where everyone is brought to dance with
everyone, as it is the case during the social dancing parties.
Required level: A little touch of motivation, that's all!
INTERMEDIATE 1:
At least one year experience (classrooms and parties).
You know the basics of West Coast Swing (starter step, left side pass, underarm turn, sugar push,
whip, tuck turn, prep + inside turn).
You already gain self-assurance in social dancing, but you still don't feel confident on any kind of
music. In addition to improving your basics, you want to earn the fundamentals and to be able to
dance with any partner.
In the interest of the quality and homogeneity of the group, an audition will take place at the
beginning of the level in order to propose you the most appropriate workshop level.
INTERMEDIATE 2:
2 to 3 years’ experience (classrooms and parties).
You know fundamentals of West Coast Swing and master the basics movements. You know several
footwork, different movements and also the variations of tempos 8, 10, 12... are familiar to you.
Rock n Go, Rolling Count and stretch technics do not have any secrets for you. You regularly practice
social dancing and you feel comfortable on the floor even if you may sometimes feel a little bit
uncomfortable on fast rhythms.
In the interest of the quality and homogeneity of the group, an audition will take place at the
beginning of the level in order to propose you the most appropriate workshop level.
ADVANCED:
At least 4 years’ experience with regular classrooms, workshops and parties.
West Coast Swing is your dance now! You are travelling for events elsewhere in France or abroad.
You master the variations, you put styling in your dance, but you are searching to develop your own
style. You are looking for sharing, doing musical performance and improving the dialogue with your
partner.
In the interest of the quality and homogeneity of the group, an audition will take place at the
beginning of the level in order to propose you the most appropriate workshop level.

 Want to enjoy Strasbourg?!
Strasbourg offers lots of opportunities for unusual discoveries, romantic visits or cultural outings. If
you want to enjoy it during the times "off" or extend your stay in Strasbourg, here are some places you
should not miss in the Alsatian capital.
Strasbourg Cathedral standing since 1439, is the mythical site not to be missed. 144m high, it will
bring you a high and unique perspective of the city. Next to it, the Palais Rohan, also a Strasbourg historical
site.
The district of La Petite France is the “old Strasbourg". Half-timbered houses, narrow streets, typical
shops make it a wonderful and amazing setting.
The Kleber Place (“place Kléber”) is the place of entertainment. The building of the Aubette, the Fnac
(cultural and technical goods), the Apple store, Galeries Lafayette: all these buildings frame this historic
square of the capital.
The Halles Place (“place des Halles”) is the place for shopaholics. Nearly 120 shops, restaurants and
services at your disposal!
All these sites are easily accessible and can be part of a nice walk.
