Internal Vacancy Advert reference number: 260 2016 Project Manager (1 year Fixed Term Contract) Main purpose of the job To drive the development and implementation of an adolescent Bio-behavioural health research survey. Location Klerksdorp, North West Province Key performance areas Project development and implementation Manage adolescent health research project, including logistics, stakeholder relationships, staff, participant recruitment, and adherence to protocol. Identify the needs of the relevant project Identify and obtain resources required Co-ordinate with external agencies such as government and NGO partners, regulatory bodies, auditing agencies and others as necessary Ensure high quality data collection and management Regularly monitor and report to Line Managers data quality and research progress and adherence to targets and timelines Develop research venue and set up logistics as required Develop and adhere to project and institutional tools such as SOP’s, informed consents, participant/beneficiary information material, technical guidelines, best practice documents and other documentation as required Co-ordinate and troubleshoot operational activities such as IT, procurement etc. Develop and deliver monthly and quarterly research progress reports Conduct training on project processes and activities with field staff Write project reports, including PowerPoint presentations, for internal and external dissemination on an ongoing basis Internal Vacancy Monitor HR/recruitment and hiring processes for project vacancies Present papers and results to stakeholders Attend to all staffing requirements and administration as requested by Research staff Ensure staff’s adherence to research protocol and site specific and institutional SOPS Staff co-ordination Co-ordinate the duties of team members to ensure optimal staff utilisation and maintenance of sound labour relations Perform and facilitate performance development and assessments Identify sub-standard performance by team members and take necessary corrective action Coach and train team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation Promote harmony, teamwork and sharing of information Required minimum education and training MSc / MPH / MPM / /MA Certification in Project Management or demonstrate Project Management skills Valid driver’s license Proficiency in MS Office Required minimum work experience Minimum 5 years’ working experience in research and/or project management.
