Research the main types of rocks.

Where do we find fossils?
Compare and group together different
kinds of rocks on the basis of their
appearance and simple physical
properties.

Design a Greek pot. Create a pot out of
paper Mache or clay sculpt t and then
paint own Greek design on to it.
Describe in simple terms how fossils are
formed when things that have lived are
trapped within rock. Recognise that soils
are made from rocks and organic matter.

stand? What kind of materials are they
made from? Are all rocks the same in
terms of hardness? – Describe and
classify.

To locate Greece on a map of Europe
Look at Greece now and in ancient Greece – what do
you think will be different/same? What is
difference/same?
Greece is made up of many islands – land/coast/water –
how did they travel places?
Describe physical features of location – near to sea, by
mountains etc. Discuss how these cities were states ,
were ran differently and had rivals.
Look at a scene of Athenian and Spartan life; compare
differences and similarities. Focus on homes,
buildings/statues, what women
/men/children roles were and the size of their army.
